Someone tried using this cooler with the completely wrong socket and then gave it a bad review which is entirely on them. This cooler is probably the best bang for your buck with older intel platforms. Cooling socket 1156 all the way up to 1151. 1st-9th gen. Ive used this cooler with a 2600k OC to 4.2ghz and was stable. Ive also used it with an i7 7700 and was totally fine. A little noisy but theres no better option sub $10. Would not spend more than 8-10 because theres really good coolers in the 15-20 range that u should consider. Overall its an amazing value and I highly recommend built many systems with it not one complaint, bonus points if your mobo and ram is blue to match. 5 |

and a Core i7-9700 processor. (The new Core i7-10700 needs LGA 1200 socket). Crucial DDR4-3200 memory went right in. Installed the processor (with Thermaltake thermal grease) and a Cooler Master Cooler. Everything worked first shot. No issues at all, after over a month of use. Very pleased. 5 |
