I connect this cable from my canon 5d mark ii to my Tascam dr-100.

I use the NTG-3 as part of a cinema kit that includes a Tascam DR-100 and a Canon 7D. No complaints. Sound is crystal clear, great for catching dialogue and ambient sound both.

if you use a dr-100 for field recording, you know that the lithium battery (bpl-2) does not last too long if phantom power is needed. i have 2 batteries and i run out of power every time. when this external battery came out, i bought it very fast to try it. for my surprise it works amazingly good. highly recommended. i use 6 duracell 2450 mah on it and it lasts for many, many hours using the phantom power on my dr-100. cheers

I have the strap only for a few days, so I can't say anything about its durability. I use it for a Tascam DR-100 MKiii recorder and works very well. It has a plastic feel and I do not want to test it in order to find how hard it is, but the price is right.

I've been doing a lot of set piece recording with my Tascam DR-100, this adaptor saved me a lot of batteries. I like that the prongs on the adapter/plug unit fold into it for easier packing.

Now that the 7D has manual audio, this makes life much easier. Works just as described with DR-100. The size of the 1/8 plugs seemed too large by just a hair. They went in really hard to the camera. Could be that that jack on the camera is just tight. I also tested this with a Mackie VLZ 1604 and a AKG C3000 B. It worked well but the 35dB cut was around 10-12dB too much. It worked but I like to see the levels much higher than that. Next time I would re-route the output to slam more signal into the 7D. If I am out and about, I use the DR-100 and it worked like a gem.

I use this cable with the Rodelink wireless audio system (between the receiver and the Tascam DR-100 mkII recorder). Works great !
