Epson 4K Upscaling Projector

This was a move up from an Epson 5030ub, so bulb based 1080p to native 4K laser is quite the jump. I’m projecting on a 135” budget 1.0 gain grey screen and the colors, contrast and brightness are spectacular. I sit about 14’ away and the detail and sharpness of the image is so much better than what I was used to. I love that Epson for what it is but this is in a different league. Having only had the projector for a couple of weeks, I’m still playing with different settings and testing various 4K media with my Oppo so still have to spend more time with this to really get to know it. The only con I’ve noticed so far is it can crush some black detail in difficult scenes but I may be able to tease out some image with some adjustment tweaks, not a deal breaker for me but worth mentioning. Also, my old projector was supposed to have a similar lumen rating and had about 900hr on the bulb but this is significantly brighter. Haven’t put the laser past 60 (50 is default) and won’t need to unless I am keeping some lights on in the room. Last thing is it is much quieter than the old Epson and is mounted right above my head so that is also a big plus, hope it stays this quiet. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this projector to replace an excellent Epson HD LCD projector. I was attracted to the laser light source and liked that this LG model had two separate colors which I thought would reduce the likelihood of rainbow patterns and indeed I haven't noticed these at all so far. The 4K is crisp and the picture is bright. HDR mode is very noticeable and I like the range of picture options. I use an Apple 4K TV and Xbox Series X so wasn't too interested in the onboard WebOS but its generally pretty responsive and intuitive so probably useful to have. The projected image does have a small thin light border and in super-widescreen 2.35:1 mode there are of course lighter bars at top and bottom; I'm not sure why with all the adaptive dimming technology they couldn't make it go really dark in those areas too, but projecting onto a wall with custom sprayed paint using MissisipiMan's formula in the AVSforum works really well with this projector and still looks better than the movie theater and is a big improvement over the Epson because of the 4K and laser technology, and is now useable in a brighter room. My advice is save your money on the expensive screen and splurge on this projector if you are thinking about it. I do think this technology is a generation ahead of the last and what's nice is it's also LG quality (I knew they made the best LCD IPS panels for computer displays as we have 6 of them, but now find they make really good projectors too) and really nice design and aesthetics. Switching on and off is fast and reliable and ambient noise seems quieter than anything else we have in the media room. We run a 30ft HDMI cable originally intended for 18Gbps through the ceiling and I was glad it didn't have to be replaced and meets all the XBox and Apple diagnostic tests at 4K/60Hz and 1080p/120Hz and works well with ARC sound too, even with a 3 year old receiver. 5 |

I bought this about 6 months back and have been using it since then in my Home theater. This is great for ceiling mounting. This replaced my previous Epson 8350. The picture is bright even in the basic cinema mode when there is some outside light coming in. The projector is recognized as native 4K by Roku and any other components connected. First, I tried an Epson 4k model. It had brighter whites, but was not recognized as native 4K, and was huge in size. This projector is just half the size and weight, and has many convenient features and ports. The change from Epson 8350 was seamless, though the mounting hole positions are a bit weird. Overall, a great purchase for the price. 5 |

I just purchased a new 4K Epson projector for my home and as I have done for my previous home projectors, I always buy a spare bulb right away. I probably won't need if for at least three years, but just in case, I'll have it hand if it goes early. The price from B&H was the best out there and it clearly was an original Epson product. Here's hoping that I DON'T need it from some time to come. 5 |

My previous Epson projector died after about 10 years. It was a 1K (HD) model but still a very good unit. This new projector is so strong with the contrast and the robustness of all the colors and being able to do it even brighter (non cinema mode). 4K is fantastic as it brings so much detail to the entire scene. Testing with Top Gun Maverick revealed a new level of detail in the scenes where you can resolve the small items on shelves in the background of a sceene. I am very happy and look forward to a new decade with this projector. P.S. This projector serves as our daily use video for TV and movies and its primary sources are Apple TV (4K), and HD Cable box (1080i/720p). 5 |

“This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision® Flex CO-FH02 Full HD 1080p Smart Portable Projector projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” I really like this projector alot!..... I have several Epson products and this is a winner! The set up was so easy and fast.... I am very impressed with how bright the projection is even in full daylight in my studio! Also, the Auto Keystone Correction was great!....Thats a huge plus for me. When I tilt the Projector up, it adjusts the image for the angle....Love that! Another HUGE bonus is the speaker!.....I was shocked at how good it sounds on its own... and that is VERY rare for a small projector. Impressive! The resolution on this projector is quite amazing!.... I projected an image equivalent to about 90 inches wide and it was super clear, and very sharp! I do wish that it had a zoom feature, but thats not a deal breaker at all. The fact that this powerful projector easily fits into a backpack or small luggage is fantastic! I travel alot and will take it on many trips. I do wish that it had more HDMI Ports.... but I can use an external hub. Big plus that I love is the Android feature! I use Android Phones and this will come in handy in so many ways! Overall, this Epson is a WINNER to me....its light weight, sharp, great design and very affordable!... 5 |

I bought this because all the reviews advised it was the best rated 4K player. It’s has worked flawlessly with excellent upscaling. Very happy with my purchase. 5 |

This player has amazing video and audio. 4K standard and upscaling. Pure bright colors. Audio is amazing. I listen to standard stereo CD’s and it blows me away. The audio in movies, all formats including Dolby Atmos is extremely accurate. User interface is great. Very easy to setup. Almost does itself. I loved my first one so much I purchased a second one for my upstairs system. Recommended to friends and they are now owners. You cannot go wrong with this player. 5 |

It's the best and most powerful streaming player you can get for money. The Nvidia comes with the updated CPU, the Nvidia Tegra X1 chip that’s 25 percent faster, 16GB of internal storage and 3GB RAM.You are getting a device that can stream in 4K HDR, with both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio decoding. The former can optimize the more vibrant colors of HDR video on a scene-by-scene basis, while the latter finally allows for object-based soundtracks in Netflix. Unfortunately, Nvidia skipped out on supporting HDR10 , the non-proprietary alternative to Dolby Vision that’s mainly available in some Amazon Prime videos, and it doesn’t support YouTube videos in HDRT. The speed increase isn’t really noticeable in everyday use, but it’s necessary to power a the new Shield’s AI upscaling. This feature solves a real problem with streaming video today: Even on a 4K TV, most content still streams in 1080p or 720p, so you’re seldom making the most of the fancy panel you paid for. While most televisions have their own basic upscaling algorithms that can fill in some details in non-4K content, Nvidia went a step further by training a deep learning model to predict the difference between upscaled and actual 4K content. This model then runs in real time on the Shield, where it tries to fill in the quality gaps based on what it’s learned. In practice, this means that edges become sharper, face details become less blurry, and strands of hair become more defined. Nvidia is proud to show off the tech as well, including a “demo mode” that lets you toggle the AI mode or view it side-by-side with traditional upscaling. Going back and forth, the difference is often obvious, especially if you’re somewhat close to the TV or viewing 720p content on YouTube. Video purists can make the upscaler less aggressive or disable it entirely, but I never found this to be necessary. The new Nvidia Pro comes with a new designed remote with volume control adding dedicated fast-forward and rewind keys. 5 |
