Optoma produce excellent projectors. This model, the HD33,which includes 3D feature is amazing for the price. Do not hesitate.Blurays look great. If you have a projector already, upgrade to 3D and if you are new to Home theater projectors start with this one. Obtain DLP link glasses which are now reasonably priced and project onto a screen or a wall and be impressed.

We love movies and don't go to brick and mortar theaters anymore for a number of reasons. We have been using home projection for over 6 years now and our first projector of choice was Epson PowerLite 1450 which we loved. Unfortunately. it had to be replaced. After studying what is now available we went with Home Cinema 3800. It is slightly larger and heavier, but we don't intend to move it around (We have a smaller more portable Epson Projector as well - EX 7230). The 3800 has 3,000 lumens of brightness while the 1450 had 4200. There wasn't an alternate that was in our acceptable price range. On the positive side, it has an outstanding picture quality and also can show 3D movies which we promptly purchased the required 3d glasses. We already own a 3d Blu-ray player . It has been fun watching the Hobbit, Avatar, and Top Gun Maverick in 3D. Very exciting. The 3800 is quieter which is important because it is positioned very close to us. For sound, we don't rely on its two speakers because we've always plugged it into our Soundbar system and receive great sound! So we are able to stream movies and TV ate our 100 inch screen.

Most mid level HD projectors only offering HDMI for digital input, and real world staging scenario you are running HD-SDI from your switcher due to the distance - This device provides the conversion without any issues.

I did a lot of research and looked into many different projectors, online specs review and field testing at electronic stores. I use the probe for for movies. The HD 66 is simy right on theory if you are looking for a compact, silent, yet sufficiently bright projector with deep connectivity. I'm using the HD connection - great to have, but it also has all other connections to cover your basics, VGA, s-video and component. The speaker is not worth mentioning, at least for movies, it may perhaps be ok for some sound effects during your next presentation or the odd clip here and there. But then I'm running everything at home through an LG HOME THEATER system, so the speaker is disabled and so far I didn't turn it back on. All in all a great projector for good money.

Perfect if you want to test new equipment before purchasing the HD Extreme 3D. Testing a New style of camera on the market. Made sense not to spend a lot of Money for a test only. Well now we are sold on buying the 3D version ...Test went perfect...

These are as good as it gets without venturing into the "Alpha" class of optics. The focus wheel quickly brings your target into focus, with an exceptional "feel." The locking diopter ring is a huge plus also. Eye cups are comfortable, but I'd like to have a little tighter detents on the eye cup adjustment. Color rendering is excellent, and in the short time I've used these, chromatic aberration has been noticeably absent. I most recently used them at Total Archery Challenge in Big Sky, Montana. Many of the 3D archery targets were buried in dark pockets of timber, and the combination of dark colored targets and deep shade can make it difficult to make out scoring rings. However, the Razor HD binos were adept at bringing out details other binos didn't. At one point, while focusing on a distant 3D target, the focus wheel momentarily brought a nearer pine branch into focus. I spun the wheel back to focus on the branch, and the detail of each individual pine needle was astounding. While I didn't have any other glass on hand to compare these with that weekend, I can honestly say the only other time I've experienced the "wow factor" I experienced with the Razor HD, was with a friend's Swarovski 10x42 SLC. Not to say the Razor HD is necessarily on par with the Swarovskis, but I'd argue they're pretty darned close! For the price, I'd also argue they handily beat anything else in their class.

I bought this product when I was trying to get a 720P HD65, I found this newer HD66 with higher lumens and 3D extra features, this is my first home HD movie project, I had a 50 LCD HD TV set already, and I watched my friends lower lumens project in his entertaiment room so I know the pros and cons of each set. But when I first time turn this project on my white wall connected to a blur-ray DVD player, it takes my breath away, I said wow! This project is very bright and picture quality is very detail, controlling is good and handy, can't wait for trying a 3D movie.

Compared to Epson projectors, this is a superior model. Precise imaging and really bright. Well worth extra cost.
