This projector is Epson's mid level Pro UHD projector. It replaces the Epson Home Cinema 3700 with a few upgrades. This new 3800 has 4k HDR10 and does the full 18gbps @60hz. Its a wonderful value for what you get with 3000 lumens of brightness, 100,000:1 contrast ratio, horizontal and vertical lens shift. Its a great value for its price range.

I just purchased a new 4K Epson projector for my home and as I have done for my previous home projectors, I always buy a spare bulb right away. I probably won't need if for at least three years, but just in case, I'll have it hand if it goes early. The price from B&H was the best out there and it clearly was an original Epson product. Here's hoping that I DON'T need it from some time to come.

Great projector to get that big home cinema feeling for an affordable price.

Awesome little machine. I used this to power my projector(home cinema projector) and for a whole movie. Wonderful little box of power. I do intend to get the extra battery for it. Awesome piece of kit

It's our first home cinema projector and is meeting or exceeding almost all expectations in terms of quality of picture (not using a screen) and ease of use. One quibble - having trouble connecting Sonos roam speakers via bluetooth.

Got this for my Epson 4010 and it works great. Everything you need to mount a projector to the ceiling is in the box. It installs with two screws, and the mount can be installed with the screws either parallel or perpendicular to the screen, depending on which way your ceiling joists are going. Once installed, the mount is very solid, even with large and heavy projectors. The microadjustment knobs are very nice. You can't adjust yaw except by loosening the mounting screws and twisting the mount, so spend the extra couple minutes to make sure you are aimed at the screen before tightening everything down. I did so and got it dead nuts on the first try. I am aware of the other oft-recommended mount, but in my opinion it's overkill for 95% of home PJ users. This one hits the sweet spot between quality, affordability, and ease-of-use.

This was a move up from an Epson 5030ub, so bulb based 1080p to native 4K laser is quite the jump. I’m projecting on a 135” budget 1.0 gain grey screen and the colors, contrast and brightness are spectacular. I sit about 14’ away and the detail and sharpness of the image is so much better than what I was used to. I love that Epson for what it is but this is in a different league. Having only had the projector for a couple of weeks, I’m still playing with different settings and testing various 4K media with my Oppo so still have to spend more time with this to really get to know it. The only con I’ve noticed so far is it can crush some black detail in difficult scenes but I may be able to tease out some image with some adjustment tweaks, not a deal breaker for me but worth mentioning. Also, my old projector was supposed to have a similar lumen rating and had about 900hr on the bulb but this is significantly brighter. Haven’t put the laser past 60 (50 is default) and won’t need to unless I am keeping some lights on in the room. Last thing is it is much quieter than the old Epson and is mounted right above my head so that is also a big plus, hope it stays this quiet.
