I compared this paper to epson papers and the canson's white was superior.

I love this paper for black and white prints on my Epson 3880.

I work in higher education and my communications office bought this to use with our Nikon D3300 DSLR to make low-budget promotional videos that don't require a professional videographer. Velvet Fine Art Paper has become my go to paper for black and white printing on my Epson 3880. Not only does it hold detail, it has a great tonal range. Furthermore the rough texture almost results in a 3D effect.

One of my favorite papers for printing higher contrast black and white images. I LOVE the texture, but I initially thought it would be incompatible with some of my images. To my surprise it enhanced them. The paper is not as thick as many of the smooth matte papers but it still feels substantial and sturdy. Perhaps this is due to the mix of alpha-cellulose with cotton? I have not printed color images so cannot attest to that, but I expect I would not be disappointed. I highly recommend this paper.

Ive been searching for a higher grade of paper to do custom black and white printing with. This fills the bill. It has rich blacks and holds detail well in the highlights. Yes, if you ask, I will recommend it.
