I'm using this with my older Macbook pro that does not have USB-C or ethernet ports. I just plugged this adapter in my USB-A port and it worked right away. The computer saw it and connected to my network without any issues. This will come in super handy when I need the fastest signal possible. Or if the wireless connection is spotty. I did a speed test with this adapter connected and I was getting over 500 mbps upload and download speeds on my work network connection, which is as fast as I can expect to get. I'm happy with this adapter and it would be hard to beat at this price. This is a very affordable solution if your computer does not have its own ethernet port. I'm using this with my Macbook Air that only has USB-C ports and no ethernet port. This adapter worked right out of the box to give me an ethernet connection. Just plugged the ethernet cable in to the adapter, connected the adapter to the CPU's USB-C port, and my computer connected to my work network flawlessly. The wifi at my work is not great, so this adapter is giving me a fast network connection now through ethernet. I did a speed test and I'm getting approximately 500mbps upload/download speeds with this adapter, which is fantastic. I also appreciate that the adapter has LED indicators. One light shows there is a connection (green). The middle light shows there is power (White/blue). And the 3rd light blinks orange to show there is activity. Having these lights could come in handy if I need to trouble shoot, which is very helpful. The build quality is also really good. This feels like it will last a long time. The cable seems sturdy and the ethernet cable plugs in securely into the adapter's port. Overall, I'm happy with this adapter and it is working very well. This is the simple but versatile device that I recommend as a router for all my friends and family, and will also use as an access point for them or small businesses where integrated solutions are too complex for a handful of users. Qualcomm Atheros chipset, with 350 Mbps WAN To LAN capability routing. Firmware has stabilized and now I am able to fully recommend (January 2021), albeit feature set is still lacking compared to AirRouter predecessor, but offers core abilities for baseline users. For the airCube, plug the ethernet from the modem into the WAN (eth0), then you may connect your computer via wireless or ethernet to the LAN ports (PoE In, 2, or 3), typing in https://192.168.1.1 in your web browser, with ubnt as username, and password printed on the label beneath. Most people are now aware and desiring to minimize wireless radiation, so I recommend them to turn off the 5 Ghz wireless, and configure the 2.4 Ghz for 20 MHz Channel Width, select channel 1, 6, or 11, while starting with 5 dBm output power (transmit power is logarithmic, so 5 dBm is 3mW, wile 20 dBm is 100 mW), and choose the SSID Name and Password. Look for a signal strength of -80 dBm or better (-55 to -60 dBm ideal) is recommended for stable links, and increase the output power until that range is achieved for desired places. Obviously, line of sight and height is appreciated for more effective communication. Increasing the Tx power on any wireless device will create a noise for other wireless devices. The rest you could choose to remain as default or configure more. 5 |

I use this with a 20gbps ethernet SFP+ backbone uplink from the UniFi SFP+ Aggregation Switch. My LAN has never been faster! 5 |

Enormous capacity that can be configured just about any way you could want. It can be accessed in just about any manner you wish over a wired LAN and can be expanded by attaching USB drives. Tremendous flexibility with regard to users, groups and shares. It can be used as back up and/or for streaming to any device on your LAN and accessed remotely. Back up to the Cloud (the one in the sky) is also available with an account - but why would you want to? Unless you are computer literate, there is a learning curve and I'd suggest that you play with it a while before you place it into service for real. You may have to change something with the configuration and doing so in some cases requires a reset that will erase all data. I think I'm set for the foreseeable future with this device. 5 |

If you have 6E capable devices like an iPad Pro, Mac, etc. I think this is worth the upgrade. It's like having wired LAN speeds wirelessly. It also allowed me to get a good signal and speed in places I could not before upgrading to this system. The app is great and it was easy to setup. I did a lot of research for this purchase and personally found it to be the best bang for the buck. 5 |
