I bought this because my old splitter was a piece of junk and only had 4 ports, this one is exactly what i need as most 4K Tv's, there's really only 1 TRUE 4K HDMI port, so that's why i got this and it works great from switching between my Xbox, Apple TV, and other devices i have attached it it. Very easy to set up and use. Might buy another one for my other TV 5 |

I bought this to alleviate a problem I was having with an older HDMI splitter. Apparently Macs (but not PCs) generate a copyright-protection code called HDCP that prevents more than one signal to come out of the splitter's output. So only one projector, or one streaming/recording device, etc. would get a signal, and the other output would be dead. This little Kanex splitter accomodates the HDCP code, so both outputs work. Problem solved. I'm still not sure of the range of the signal; I'm currently running 2 50' HDMI cables with no problem. Haven't tested for a longer range yet. 5 |
