Ethernet To Coax Moca Network Adapter

I purchased these to setup a MoCA network in my house for my Tivo Roamio 1Tb OTA and two Tivo Minis. I love the fact that I can use only one RG6 coax cable (ANT) coming out of the wall and one RG6 coax cable out of the Actiontech Adapter to the Tivo Roamio. With my setup, I only needed one since the Tivo Minis already have a MoCA Adapter built in.

I purchased the two-pack Actiontec Bonded MoCA Network Adapters after reading about them online. They are extremely simple to install. All you do is connect one to your tv cable and plug in you ethernet source and you're ready to go. You must have at least two adapters to complete the network. I installed the second one in our living room. This time I just connected the tv cable to the adapter and it was the ethernet source for my streaming devices. I was so satisfied with these adapters, I purchased the wi-fi extender with which I am equally pleased. I've gotten over 100 Mps with this wi-fi extender - unbelievable!! If you need a hard wire ethernet in your house, this is the simplest way to get one - using your existing cable tv lines. I decided to cut the cord on cable tv because my bill went up nearly $20 per month with no change in service. With this device, I am able to run OTA TV and streaming devices over my home tv cables and it's like magic. I definitely recommend this produce to anyone interested in a MoCA network.

Great device for a 'wired home connection', which is better than WiFi connection that uses waves that decay over distance. I have used four of these MoCA 2.0 devices to essentially have direct internet to my office, master, main room, and guest bedroom. I also have two WiFi hot spots in my home for our mobile devices that require little data transfer. My home lacked the Ethernet connections but had the coax in each room. The MoCA allow you to use your cable coax cable to transfer data without interference to your cable signal. MoCA stands for Multimedia over coax alliance. Thank you!

Replace a powerline AV500 system with this MoCa system. The powerline seemed to be growing slower over time. Going from 90mbps to 56mbps. The MoCa is runing at 470mbps and is solid. Install was every easy. This kit included 2 ECB6200 units with power supplies, 2 CAT5e cables, 2 short coax cables, and a 2-way splitter. Everything I needed to complete the install. I'm using an OTA antenna on the coax and it is a closed network so I did not need an Point of Entry (POE) filter.

I'm using this with my older Macbook pro that does not have USB-C or ethernet ports. I just plugged this adapter in my USB-A port and it worked right away. The computer saw it and connected to my network without any issues. This will come in super handy when I need the fastest signal possible. Or if the wireless connection is spotty. I did a speed test with this adapter connected and I was getting over 500 mbps upload and download speeds on my work network connection, which is as fast as I can expect to get. I'm happy with this adapter and it would be hard to beat at this price. This is a very affordable solution if your computer does not have its own ethernet port. I'm using this with my Macbook Air that only has USB-C ports and no ethernet port. This adapter worked right out of the box to give me an ethernet connection. Just plugged the ethernet cable in to the adapter, connected the adapter to the CPU's USB-C port, and my computer connected to my work network flawlessly. The wifi at my work is not great, so this adapter is giving me a fast network connection now through ethernet. I did a speed test and I'm getting approximately 500mbps upload/download speeds with this adapter, which is fantastic. I also appreciate that the adapter has LED indicators. One light shows there is a connection (green). The middle light shows there is power (White/blue). And the 3rd light blinks orange to show there is activity. Having these lights could come in handy if I need to trouble shoot, which is very helpful. The build quality is also really good. This feels like it will last a long time. The cable seems sturdy and the ethernet cable plugs in securely into the adapter's port. Overall, I'm happy with this adapter and it is working very well. MoCA is the way to go if you don't have an ethernet wired house. I've tried Powerline ethernet and although it was decent, it was not stable. Other connected appliances add noise to the electric signal. With MoCA, the signal is stable and FAST. One thing you have to get is a PoE filter. You need to add it to the coaxial coming into the house. I added it where it came in at the utility closet. Once on, the MoCA signal has been perfect.

This is by far the best non-Ethernet home networking solution on the market delivering near 1G Ethernet speeds. There were some teething issues for me that I had to resolve, but since then my three adapters have been rock solid. So much so I just bought 2 more. A few tech notes from the issues I had to resolve. High frequency bandwidth is everything for these adapters. Make sure you have RG6 wires, this should not be an issue if using cable wiring preinstalled in the last 30-40 years or more recently by the cable company. In my case the in wall wiring was OK with RG6 cable. However a previous owner had used cheap R59 jumpers (with cheap twist on terminations) between a rat's nest of cheap Radio Shack splitters that couldn't pass more than 1 GHz. I bought a higher quality 6-way splitter rated up to 2 GHz. I also found that having a filter designed to contain the MOCA signals within the house was an absolute necessity. This filter is installed at the input to the splitter for me. I think the filter either addressed a high frequency impedance issue or controlled signal reflections that were causing issues. As an aside to anyone who cares, these adapters do pass VLANs and probably any other Ethernet L2 items like jumbo frames and the like. I believe all MOCA adapters do is to encapsulate Ethernet frames and seamlessly pass it over the MOCA network.

I use my in home MoCA network, driven by Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.0 adapters, to connect my TiVOs to my router. Streaming between TiVO boxes, and streaming from Netflix and other providers is excellent ... no buffering. My only use for home WiFi is to connect my cell phone to my home network ... and slow wireless N is good enough for that.

Comes with phone cable, Ethernet cable, coax cable all of high quality. This is one of the highest joule rated surge protector. I'm going to buy another one... This is my second. The other one is on my entertainment system with a ton of power blocks and cable. Ohh... Did I mention this has an electric noise filter? A great feature for those sensitive electronics and will notice cleaner audio from your speakers. Plenty of power outlets never have to worry about having enough jacks.
