Explain Hard Disks And Solid State Drives

Compared to old Hard drive which was not solid state, the new drive respond time is noticeable. Did not want to change drives because thought I was wasting money $243. but after changing drives glad I did. Ron I

I am IT guy who replaces mechanical hard drives with solid state hard drives approximately once per week. This is a great brand, with a good product at a great price. If you want to compare SSDs, look for the highest number of Input / Output Per Second (IOPs) to best judge performance. Read/write speed is not a good indicator. I would rate the drive as a B+, which is more great for most uses.

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well.

I have tested this SATA to USB cable using several different SATA disks including regular 2.5" spinning disks and 2.5" SSD disks. The cable comes in zip lock bag with a little instruction book. The cable is very strong feeling and has a good amount of flex. The cable is long enough that I can connect it to a USB port on the bottom of my normal size PC tower and have the other end with the drive sit on top of the tower. The SATA end of the cable has 4 tiny pin holes in it which on close inspections with a drive connected, one of them has an LED in it. The LED stays lit to indicate that it is working and then flashes for disk activity. When connected, the computer detected the cable and attached drive very quickly. Transferring data to the drive was very quick and consistent in speed throughout the process. I have confirmed that this cable only works with 2.5" drives as the product describes. I guess USB just doesn't have enough power for full size 3.5" drives, which isn't a flaw of the product but larger hard drives. Great simple cable to get data from 2.5" drives. Instant portable hard drive cable or help in recovery of files laptop/SSD hard drives. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

It actually really hard to find WD UltraStar drives that are actually supported to the five year warranty If you read the BackBlaze Disk Report https://www.backblaze.com/cloud-storage/resources/hard-drive-test-data these are the go to reliable disks for NAS. But trying to find an actual new supported product is almost impossible. Thanks to B&H for sourcing this for us. I checked my disks on the WD site when they arrived and they did check out as fully support for the 5 year period. Thanks

Cost effective cable for migrating my old hard drive to new solid state drive.

This mounting kit worked well when converting my iMac from a hard drive to a solid state drive.

(Please note I did NOT say a solid state NAS drive.) Seagate NAS drives provide great storage capacity, in a standard-sized package, and they're designed for NAS. Highly recommend.

This Sabrent converter is great in allowing use of the new Solid State drives in older desktop machines. Plug-and-play. Works great

The Sandisk Ultra SSD's have been my first choice for solid state drives. Great performance and at a competitive price. I've done a lot of upgrades for people and have had zero issues with these.
