External Amp For Avr
Matthew | 2024-09-08 07:29:10 |
I'm using an AVR as a pre-amp to an external amp that has balanced inputs. The AVR only has unbalanced outputs, so I bought the LM2B to convert the AVR signal to balanced. The advantage in doing this is that the balanced signal is about 6db stronger than unbalanced, giving me lots of headroom, and the amp doesn't have to work as hard to get the volume I need. I did a lot of research on these converters, and the LM2B seems to have the strongest performance specs of all the ones I looked at. So far it works and sounds fantastic. Great solution for converting unbalanced signals in a home theater set up. 5 |

I have a long history with Denon Products; AVR-790 Amp/Tuner, a DCD-1560 CD Player and a DRW-585 Cassette Player. Last year (Summer 2020), in preparation to digitize my old vinal collection, I had a Kenwood KA-801 Amp refurbished. Next, I researched USB Capable Turntables and ultimately selected the Denon DP-450USB. This turntable combined with an Ortofon 2M Black Cartridge have exceeded all of my expectations! Keep Up the Great Engineering Denon and Thank You for helping me thoroughly enjoy my vinal collection, once again!!!!!... 5 |

Use it as a dedicated stereo amp for 16bit Flac music, opened up my sound stage vs AVR only 5 |

No doubt, it's spendy; even in the Sonos realm. Said it, now it's out of the way. I have been super happy with the Amp since day one. Shipped fast, great packaging, everything I needed to install and set up, and quality is evident straight away. I had Zone 2 speakers in the back porch ceiling that were controlled via an AVR. Always cumbersome to turn it on and then it was picky about which sources would feed to Zone 2. Enter the Amp. HDMI, optical, and WiFi inputs; input source issues solved. I pulled the speaker wire from the AVR and installed the INCLUDED banana plugs. Plugged in the Banana plugs, ethernet cable (it was handy, why not hard wire?), and then the AC power. Start to finish, 7-ish minutes. That includes cleaning the 6 years of dust bunnies that were stashed away within wire runs. Solid, sounds great, and real easy to use. Tell Siri to play "The Pool Day" playlist on the patio = DONE! Gripes? Wish we could run TrueSound calibration with in-ceiling speakers of our choice. We bought the amp, it contains the EQ, not the speakers. I would still buy another one though. 5 |

Purchased (2) of these and will add a third since I'm adding another amp to my system. These keep my amp and AVR cool inside my cabinet with doors that have openings in the rear for the exhaust. I set both of my T8's at 89F and it does an excellent job. The fan noise is slightly noticeable if my cabinet doors are open in variable mode but can hear the fans pretty well if the fans are running full, which rarely happens so far. This is an inexpensive investment for those who have amps & AVR's that typically run warm. 5 |

Worked perfectly. Connected my HT receiver 'LFE' channel to external amp 'XLR' for a passive sub. No 'hum'. Thick cable. seems durable. 5 |

Great little laptop. The only thing I don't really care about is that the audio is a bit weak. Have to use headphones or an external amp to really hear anything. Nicw large screen and works well. 5 |
