External Cd Dvd Drive For Laptop

It was very hard to find a CD/DVD external burner for my MacBook 12 laptop. It tried several but all needed extra external power even though I used the Apple adapter. The Apple USB SuperDrive works just great. Problem solved.

I recently bought a new laptop, no dvd drive. No problem, just ad this external drive when I need one.

For those of us who need to use more than one external back-up drive, for whom CD/DVD drives are important, who need to use an external mouse, Apple's obsession with making everything thin at the cost of connectivity and other functions presents real problems. I needed quality blank DVD's for my laptop and external burner, so having prior experience with Verbatim in the past, I choose this DVD RW pack. The RW means you can erase the and write to them again. So I can backup my computer in case of hard drive/external drive failure, verify it's working and re-write to them sagain.

I investigated every external DVD drive BH stocks before choosing one to supplement my new laptop with no internal drive. I opted for the ASUS over a smaller lighter unit powered by the computer bus because I run other peripherals and wanted the security of an external power source. So far it is blazing fast and solid as a rock on my desk. No problem installing. Looking forward to years of utility. Have not yet tried playing or writing to Blu-ray so withholding that fifth star but I have no reservations about choosing this drive.
