External Hard Disk Spinning But Not Detected

Wow, I love this hard drive. It is soooooo much faster than a regular old external drive with a spinning disk. I will be able to use this with my base model M1 Mac Mini. I can't wait!

After having great luck over the years with WD Passport (spinning disk) drives and then trying a WD external SSD (which has had multiple issues), I returned to obtain another of the Passport (disk) drives with which I've had much success over the years.

Got this for backups. But then the Samsung T7 I got was so slow I decided to use that for backups instead. This spinning disk drive is actually faster than the Samsung SSD! It's the most utterly stupid thing Samsung ever did with the T7. The T5 was a solid performer, the T7 a dud that can be lapped by a normal old hard drive! Anyway, this works exceptionally well for a bus powered spinning disk. I keep all my projects saved here when travelling, then I make copies to a disk array when back at home base. My only gripe is that I wish it was USB C.

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital.

Decided my spinning hard drive was not keeping up with my Lightroom demands, move all my photos to this external SSD and what a game changer. Upload/download speeds and performance improvements in the develop module has made spending the dollars worth every cent. Get one today!!!!

As other reviewers have noted, the drive is extremely quiet for a spinning hard drive. Of course, it's not silent like an SSD. But, a little ambient noise and the whirr of the drive completely disappears. It's also very fast, at least compared to the Seagate Expansion 5tb drive that I had been using before this one. I could transfer a ~150gb folder of photos with 40k items in about ten minutes. The blue light on the front of the drive isn't ideal, but it's bearable. Otherwise, the drive has an extremely sleek look that will complement a modern desk well.

This external hard drive works really nice and quiet, and it saves lots of disk space on my laptop. The price for it is also reasonable.

This external hard disk drive stores a ton and is light and portable. Great for video on the go editing.

This is the best external hard disk by far on the market today. Don't bother with Seagate, this is the one to get and BH PhotoVideo is the place to get it!
