As other reviewers have noted, the drive is extremely quiet for a spinning hard drive. Of course, it's not silent like an SSD. But, a little ambient noise and the whirr of the drive completely disappears. It's also very fast, at least compared to the Seagate Expansion 5tb drive that I had been using before this one. I could transfer a ~150gb folder of photos with 40k items in about ten minutes. The blue light on the front of the drive isn't ideal, but it's bearable. Otherwise, the drive has an extremely sleek look that will complement a modern desk well. 5 |
