External Mechanical Keyboard For Laptop

My job has me working from home, and in 6 different offices, some days I can't guarantee which location I'll be the following day. I finally was fed up with just dealing with whatever dusty, used mouse & keyboard might be available in whatever office I was in and bit the bullet to get a good set I could take with me anywhere for consistency. (I did buy a separate rigid clamshell case for the keyboard & mouse to keep from damaging them in my backpack) I've enjoyed using mechanical keyboards for years, from an IBM mechanical keyboard in the late 80s-90s, and a few with Cherry MX Blue switches for my PC since 2010. I hate standard laptop keys and membrane keyboards. The MX Mechanical is a joy to type on and the shortcut keys are a welcome addition (dedicated calculator app button especially). The MX Master 3S is extremely comfortable to use, and the horizontal scroll wheel is convenient since I'm in excel & Google spreadsheets for most of the day. The fact that these are both wireless and share the same USB receiver has made my setup/packup less stressful, no longer fumbling with wires and multiple usb plugs. The USB receiver stays in my laptop and I just flick the on/off switch for the Keyboard and Mouse at the start/end of my work day. 5 |

It gives you the nice, clean feeling of a mechanical keyboard, but it's silent!! 5 |

I use this stand for my laptop when connecting it to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse and it is wonderful. It is sturdy and places my laptop screen at just the right height. 5 |

As I use a laptop all the time, and didn't want to buy an external keyboard, this stand is perfect to bring the screen up to my eye level (and reduce my neck strain), while allowing me to comfortably type on the attached keyboard. So happy to have found this. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this keyboard so I could use my laptop with an external monitor and keyboard. I love the separated keys that stand out, they help me type much faster without making very many mistakes. It was easy to connect. I enjoy using it very much. 5 |

I prefer external keyboards to laptop keyboards if I'm going to be doing very much work, so I purchased this Magic keyboard at the same time I ordered a new 16 Macbook Pro for video editing. I often elevate the Mac on a stand for better monitor viewing, but that makes using the onboard keyboard very awkward and tiresome. The Magic keyboard is wireless so I can move it to any position I want, and since it is so thin and lightweight--it also travels well, too! Love it. 5 |

I have never been a fan of the laptop keyboard and trackpad when docked at the office, so I always used an external monitor and keyboard/mouse. Now, I can open up the display and sit side-by-side of my external monitor as a truly usable second display. It's the perfect height and give enough room underneath to hide drives and extra accessories. Really cleans up my desk. I may mount some cable management underneath the deck to help with some cable run. 5 |

This is a great keyboard! I got it to use with my external monitor setup now that everyone is having to work from home during the COVID19 pandemic. This device has a beautiful low profile with a slight incline, which I have found to me much easier on my wrists than my regular laptop. The travel of the keys is also incredibly satisfying. My laptop has those micro-travel butterfly keys, which has its own appeal, I suppose. But the keys on this Magic keyboard have a deep and consistent travel, and they activate no matter where on the key you hit, making mistakes from sloppy typing easier to avoid. This is a great product, and I highly recommend it for any Apple users creating a desktop workspace. 5 |

I've been using a 2021 MacBook pro with an external monitor and regular keyboard for about a year now. I bought this Touch ID keyboard recently to avoid having to reach up on my laptop stand to use the laptop's TID sensor. I was happy to see that the new keyboard didn't require an further setup after pairing. TID just started working from the get go. The extended number pad is also very useful. Battery life is fantastic - I didn't have to recharge until a few days had passed. 5 |
