Had need to get some media from a disk and instead of calling friends and borrowing drives I bought this at a very reasonable price. What I later discovered is that techies still rely on DVDs for backing up files. Its somewhat past and future proofing. 5 |

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital. 5 |

I did miss having a built in reader/player, the Apple external drives need to go directly into the Mac, not a hub, and is hard wired with a short usb cable. Being powered, this drive can use a hub, and has a generous wire. Looking forward to larger storage options with Blu-Ray too. 5 |
