External Microphone Mirrorless Camera

This mic is an excellent choice for GoPro or mirrorless camera users who want an external mic that won’t block a selfie screen. Since it doesn’t require a hot shoe, it’s good for a Sony a6400 or a Sony RX100 vii, for example. Even though it’s called “omnidirectional,” it’s actually a directional mic that can be swiveled forward or backward. I haven’t tried it outdoors but I assume if you put a small “dead cat” over it, it would perform quite well outside. Nice accessory for 25 bucks.

This is a great microphone for vlogging, especially on a smaller, mirrorless camera. I use this mic with my Sony a6400. I use a smallrig cage setup, so it doesn’t block the flip up screen. I really like this mic for vlogging because you don’t have to worry about turning it off and on, or dying because it doesn’t take a battery. Small & compact, but very effective. I am using a Nikon Z6 with Atomos Ninja V and an external microphone for video filming. The extra weight and bulge become a considerable hindrance when walking and climbing. The BlackRapid Sport Breathe Strap securely fastens the whole system and straps across your shoulder. It frees your hands for carry out other works and allows you to bring the camera up for shooting any time without delay. The other safe feature is that the camera is always securely attached to the strap whether it is being held for shooting or hanging on your shoulder.

The C70 is a great camera, but like any camera, you need to mount a microphone and/or wireless receiver. With no viewfinder, an external monitor sure is nice, too. This has the right points to do all of that without having to put an entire cage on the camera. I have a Wooden Camera handle that has the grooves at the mount point, for more mounting options. The angled cold shoe is great for using the stock C70 mic mount, too, because it places it lower.

This is the perfect tripod for me. I have a heavy camera set-up with Ninja & Ronin & external microphone & light. The Benro Mach 3 holds the weight well and extends to 6 1/2 feet+.
