External Solid State Drive Thunderbolt 2017

Solid state drive worth it.

I installed the Samsung 250GB Solid State Drive in my Lenovo desk-top computer. I moved Windows and all my application software to the solid state drive and all of my personal files to the internal disc drive. The disc drive is backed by an external disc drive. The resulting system is much faster. The installation went very smooth, although I had the entire system backed up on an external disk drive incase anything went wrong.

I've used three of these for a secondary backup of video footage. They have been excellent. The read and write speeds have been solid, especially when dealing with large numbers of video files. I've used both thunderbolt and usb3 external drives. I haven't seen any performance benefit of thunderbolt over usb 3 when using a single external drive. It has to be a raid setup, or an external ssd for thunderbolt to be useful. The case has a slight rubber feel to it, which provides the anti shock. I have no complaints about the durability. I'm very careful about shock to a spinning drive while in use, so I can't say wether this drive is better than any other for abuse while being used. I'm very pleased with these drives. Their price point, durability, compact size and solid performance are why I'll continue to use them in the future.

Using this on a 2017 iMac that I never used Thunderbolt ports on until now. Wow. Very nice external SSD to finally clean up my Lightroom catalog. Bought two 2TB WD Blue SSD's with enclosures. Excellent and so, so fast.

excellent little solid state drive - and powerful

I just recently purchased the G-Tech 9TB G-Raid External Drive with Thunderbolt. It' is by far the best drive that I ever used. Quality build, superfast performance and limitless storage and an excellent value. Five stars from me!

Very Fast External Drive, my only complaint is that it only offers 2 thunderbolt outputs.

I used this drive to clone a laptop hard drive to a solid state drive. Worked well.

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

This is an extremely reliable and easy to use Solid State Drive. Once initialized it's easy to clone form a Hard Disk Drive to this unit. Take out the old drive, insert this drive, and put your seat belt on.
