This connector allowed me to connect my USB-c external drive to an older Macpro and transfer 4 TB of data with no errors, unlike a prior connector I had. I highly recommend this.

Great little hub. I use it to connect my new WD 3 TB external drive and my printer to my PC. If you need more USB ports this will do the trick. Just plug it in and you're good to go.

A teeny, tiny 2 TB USB flash drive. Because of its two different size USB connectors, its an excellent, Bridge, for transferring files to and from older motherboards and my newer, more modern laptop which does not have a USB, A, port.

I love this case. I keep the 5 TB external drive in the case most all the time.

Im using this as an external drive for my PS4. It comes up as 1.84TB. Other than that, its fine.

Purchased this because it was one of the few external HD that had a USB-C generation 2 connection. Noticed much faster transfer speeds almost immediately. Its quiet and, so far, very reliable. I bought the 8 TB because the price jump to the 10 TB was significant. Of course, the 10 TB went on sale a week or so later and would have been an even better buy. I am using it on a PC so had to reformat it. The instructions that came with it weren't exactly correct and so did a little internet search to find the correct reformatting procedure.

As a storage profesional with over 20 years of experienced I was intrigued by this product. I needed fast external storage and my MacBook Pro has the TB port. I wondered if the some of the pitfalls from other reviewers were true. Since my job requires finding the truth I did some digging and research found some answers that lead me to purchase the RS5212. Three importants questions needed to be answered. First, was the RS5212 truely a ThunderBolt(TB) device? The answer is yes. The TB logo means the product is certified by Intel and Apple. Intel and Apple approves the product before it can get that TB seal of approval. Second, I will definetly purchase other TB products in the future but would a single TB connection on the RS5212 be a deal breaker. Turns out that is the way the product is designed, can't really fault it here besides I am looking into getting a TB hub or dock to add more devices. Third, what type of performance should I expect from the RS5212. Could a TB throughput be slower than USB 3.0? That would be unusal, according to my math, 10Gb/s TB beats USB 3.0 5Gb/s, thats based on the specification. Both I had to see and test for myself. Regardless of the device I was benchmarking (SSD or HDD) the TB connection does have higher performance than USB 3.0 For any user looking for fast external storage you should get the RS5212, easy to intall and easy to setup.

My 3 TB Seagate External Hard Drive went along with 80000 images. I was devastated . Luckily I had done GoodSync Backup and was able to get all my images back onto this 6 TB WD External Hard Drive. I bought two of these , the second one for backup. I plan to buy a third to keep off site.
