Fan On Processor

5 stars! Stable and very easy to adjust level with slider on.

This processor is very fast and does everything that I expect a processor to do. The CPU fan is great. Nice colors!! You can't go wrong with this CPU or with B&H.

The intel fan that comes in the box is quiet and effective. Love the processor - speedy and smooth.

This cooler is fantastic. Keeps the processor at very reasonable temps, and the CAM software is very intuititive for configuring fan curves and the LCD screen. The only part that seemed a little confusing at first was the wiring. The cooler includes an rgb controller for the fans as each fan has a 4 pin and an rgb connecter, but after reading the instructions it made it clear how to plug everything in and get it working. Overall a very clean and nice cooler

I shoot real estate photography and videos, and edit using Premiere Pro. My 17 laptop is fully upgraded, 32 Gig RAM, SSD hard drive, and the processors fan was always kicking in high speed when editing video and running super hot (I have a clean dust-free laptop too). Although Ive not measured the before and after difference in computer speed, that was not my intention for getting the cooling pad -- I was looking to keep my processor cool and happy. Before the cooling pad, the heat blowing out of the right side vent was hot to touch.  But after using this Thermaltake cooling pad, my processors fan has never kicked into high-gear yet, and the processor runs at a consistent normal slower speed. And actually, the cooling pad fan makes my entire work area cooler too (kid you not). Theres an adjustable fan speed scrolling switch on the left side to control the speed of the cooling fans, along with an on/off switch for the blue lights. The USB connection is on the left, but that wasnt an issue for me as my laptop has 2 USBs on left and 2 on the right side. The noise level is nothing to speak of. If I were recording voice using a microphone, I would of course turn off the cooling pad. But even on high speed, the fans are quiet. I have my speed set to just a little above the off position, and it still cools incredibly well. My only complaint are the 2 tabs in the front, to keep a laptop from sliding down, protrude above the level of my laptop so they rub into the bottom of my arms when typing.  If Thermaltake had perhaps installed rubber covers over the tops, or made them slightly lower, that might help (see pic). However, I keep those tabs folded down as my laptop doesnt slide around, so I dont use them anyway. Overall, I would recommend buying this cooling pad, and I cannot imagine why one would need to spend more. Its quiet and keeps your processor cool and happy!

First of all I wanted to thank B&H for fast delivery upon availability of the product. On top of that I never had to pay taxes on any purchase from B&H. Now, I have this MBA for over a week. Everyone talked about fantastic keyboard. My experience is no different. Pretty responsive i7 processor with 16 GB RAM. I was bit worried about over-heating and fan noise. For normal use, which I do most of the time, it's not an issue. I had to write on-line tests twice this far. The 'Test' tracks the screen, your movement through camera and also tracks any sound using microphone, while presenting the questions. Thus, it pushes the limit for this MBA. Yes, it was very hot and fan was raving fast with lot of noise throughout the test duration, bit annoying at times. But that two times were exceptional. I will try to execute some ML regression code. As Intel advertised using Intel version of TensorFlow and Python; I will have to install those before I run the test. If this MBA performs within acceptable range of heating and noise, I will be happy. I know this is Air, not a Pro. But I bought this as it was within my budget and Intel 10th Gen processor that has special support for Machine Learning. I also noticed the Activity-Monitor has some kind of bugs, not showing mem-usage columns per application, needed to delete plist to show them up again. I hope Apple-team will fix that soon. Overall I am happy with B&H and this MacBook Air for portability and modest power.
