When I purchased my MacBook Pro 2016 model from B&H a review indicated that they recommended a HyperDrive Hub. I took their advice and I should add that is almost a necessity. I use USB.3 mouse and a USB.3 external portable hard drive and there are no USB.3 ports on the MacBook Pro 2016. The other 5 ports are great as well. Best decision I made.

While this may not be the fastest flash drive in town, I applaud the design that provides both USB Type-C and Type-A. Very convenient. Note that because there is no plastic housing around the drive it does get warm, but that is no surprise.

Update can be done without old CPU with USB flash drive only.

I've never experienced a drive with speeds like this. I really do get a little over 800 MB/s transfer speeds, which is mind blowing considering I've been content with 150-250 MB/s... at least I thought I was content. I could never go back to those speeds now. This SSD works so well with my 2016 MacBook Pro with touchbar. The form factor of the drive itself is also really nice. Great, sleek packaging. Amazing metal chassis. It's also really nice that both a USB type-C to USB type-C cable and a USB type-C to USB type-A cable are included because I still quite often interface with USB type-A machines. I also feel very secure using this drive on the go as it feels (and is suppose to be) very resistant to drops and shocks. However, this drive is overkill for older machines so just make sure your machine will actually take advantage of the USB 3.1 type-C Gen. 2 speeds of up to 10Gbps, such as the new 2016 MacBook Pro. Otherwise, you'd be spending extra $$ for no good reason.

Does what it suppose to do. I use it connect my samsung usb-c external hard drive to 2016 MBP.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

Not the fastest, but that's what happens with USB 2.0
