These shells are very comfortable. I have not worn them in a subzero environment yet, but I believe given the choices of gloves available everywhere, that these are the best choice if you need to make camera adjustments in very cold weather.

Bought these to prevent dings on my Carbon fiber Gitzo and to make a subzero grab of the tripod not such a jarring experience to my old hands. They are the perfect size and don't obstruct the legs closing up or the movement of the centre column on the tripod.
