Finding Driver For Samsung Monitor
Simonig | 2024-09-22 03:21:13 |
Pros: Very fast startup, Very easy to install using Samsung's Data Migration Software. I installed the 850 PRO by migrating my boot HDD to the 850 PRO and replacing the HDD (my C: drive) with the much faster 850 PRO. Everything went very smoothly in my Windows 10 AMD desktop. Cons: Samsung could do a better job on instructing the user on how to prepare the system prior to the start of data migration. For example there should be a set of instructions informing the user to make sure the AHCI driver is loaded on the Windows 10 system prior to the start of data migration. If you don't use AHCI you will not get the maximum performance from your ssd. If you install the AHCI driver after migrating the data to the ssd and then replacing the hdd with the ssd, you may lose the ability to boot the computer from the ssd. Windows 10 does not install the AHCI driver in a fresh install of Windows 10. Samsung should have step by step instructions on what to do to make sure we get best performance for which the ssd was designed. 5 |

This SSD supports the new PCIE 4.0 standard. My laptop supports only the previous PCIE 3.0 standard. So, I was thinking the speed would still be the same as before given the situation. I was mistaken. This new SSD boots up faster than my previous 970 EVO Plus, so it is in fact an upgrade and future proof. However, the problem is not with the drive, the problem is with the Samsung driver. Samsung is at this writing only, making a driver available for their SSD's UP TO AND INCLUDING the 970 series only. There is no Samsung Elpis controller driver for this model. So, Windows 10 uses the built-in standard Microsoft NVME driver for Windows 10 that was written in 2006. Almost 15 years ago. So, I imagine that as soon as Samsung releases a new driver for this device, it will be even faster. Love it. 5 |

Needed to upgrade my former Matrox dual monitor card to support a new 1920 x 1080 display. The product didn't disappoint, and neither did the support. Physical and driver installation was a snap and configuration was easy using either the Matrox Utility or Windows display properties. I had a problem with one monitor not fully darkening when the power saver kicked in, but Matrol sent the latest driver almost immediately - and that solved the issue. When we buy stuff like this - support must be cranked into the value. Matrox supports its products. 5 |

I bought the Duex monitor over a year ago, and suddenly it started connecting and disconnecting. Driver reinstallation didn't help with this issue. I contacted customer service and they were extremely helpful. I recommend the product and the company! 5 |

I am really happy with this monitor. I was reluctant to spend the money on it, but now am happy that I did. I use this monitor mostly for office work but also some photo editing. The large screen is really nice when you have multiple documents open and arranged so everything is visible. Photos are as clear and sharp as I have ever seen. I am connected to my on board video through a HDMI version 1.4b port. I was prepared to purchase a separate video card, but the monitor is working great without it. With the version 1.4b, the monitor is refreshing at only 29 Hz. but for my uses, I can't tell the difference. The buttons on the back of the panel are accessible for setup and out of the way for normal use. Some previous reviews mentioned that the monitor doesn't have speakers, but I can assure you that it does, and they sound good. It may be that the other users just didn't set up the audio to their input source. I plugged into the HDMI 1 connection and my Windows 10 system found it and loaded a generic driver without any input from me. I then downloaded the Viewsonic driver and installed it with no issues. I could not visually tell a difference between the generic and specific drivers. Overall, I would recommend this monitor to a friend. 5 |

Got this to connect my XPS 13 from 2016/2017 to my 27" thunderbolt Apple monitor. It worked straight out of the box. However I have a Dell TB16 dock as well. Tried using that as well. So the dock's usb-c connector goes into the XPS, and the Startech adapter goes from the dock to the Thunderbolt monitor. That didn't work: I needed to update the BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, thunderbolt driver, and installed I believe the latest thunderbolt application from the Intel website. Everything works now, even the audio and usb ports on the monitor. (facetime camera doesn't work, since it can't find a driver). All in all good buy, but I can't connect my 2019 macbook Pro to my thunderbolt monitor with the startech adapter. Monitor does not activate. Seems to only work with Windows machines. 5 |

I plugged this into a new PC with USB 3.0 ports. Plugged in a monitor and no display (no auto driver installation). I Googled rocstor usb to hdmi driver, found Rocstor's product web page and found the link to the driver. Installed the driver and, easy-peasy, the display came to life. I saw no embedded USB drive on my device. Works fine so far. 5 |

Perhaps shameful, but I don't use these to monitor. I just wanted something for a second (desktop) system that would be good enough for me to give up head phones for general listening, and keep me from a frustrating return. I considered these for several months before making the deal at B&H. Maybe overkill, but I'm a former musician, and I know correct timbre, distortion effects, etc., and that's what I expect from playback. I've had these for six months. I run them with the desktop bass roll-off, and I have no complaints; only praise. The detail, accuracy and lack of fatigue means they get a lot of use. I just upgraded my DAC, and I can say that these monitors, like any real transducer, are very responsive to better source electronics. The driver grilles are a necessity, IMO, and contributed to my decision to go with Genelec over Focal, or the Gene 040's, as did the auto-off feature. This is just a great product, and, like most great products, comes at a commensorate price. Still considering a sub option, as a sub always enlarges the apparent sound field of a near field, or any smaller-driver speaker system, in a (usually) spectacular fashion. I can't imagine anyone not being satisfied with the designed capabilities of this monitor. 5 |

Followed the directions, which were helpful in making sure I downloaded the correct driver and waited for about 10 seconds for the monitor to power on the first time, and it worked perfectly. So much more convenient than a separate monitor not attached. Love it! 5 |
