Fire Sports Pictures

I use this camera as back-up for weddings, and primary for schools and sports leagues. I also shoot stills and video for our local fire department. The 18-135 lens has great range, and is very handy for both stills and video. I'm looking forward to using the extended (25,600) ISO for night time shots at fire scenes! The only downside for me as a working professional is the lack of ability to finetune focus by lens, which is a feature of the high-end models like the 7D and up. This is the fifth Canon digital I have purchased new since 2004, and I continue to be satisfied with quality and features.

I had tried and returned the Nissin A60i since is didn't consistently fire. But so far this flash has fired every time I wanted it to. It is versatile with it's built in diffuser and bounce card, and adjustable head. It has easy controls and a nice fit on my Sony A7. I also purchased the vello Universal Bounce Diffuser and Vello Mini Softbox to go along with it. Hopefully I will get some nice pictures in the future with this flash. I will be using it for mainly for wildflower pictures, and a nieces wedding.

I love the fire and forget feature so to speak. You can set this to take a large amount of pictures over a period of time and walk away.

I have been using this for shooting sports videos with my 6D and it has worked like a charm. While the pictures make it look a bit cheap, it is very well built and solid. And pink... which I dig very much. I bashed it up pretty good shooting a week long offshore fishing tournament and it held up perfectly. No lost screws or loosening of same. Two points to make though... make sure to get the counterweight and also some sort of shoulder padding (I used a wrapped lambswool pad). If you have to hold it for any length of time it'll bruise you up. This is a low cost/high value addition to your shooting quiver.

This lens is awesome...it's fast and sharp. Pictures turn out amazing. It's a great lens for sports and wildlife. Worth the purchase.
