Although the most expensive of the fitness tracker watches, it worth it for serious trackers. Highly recommend.

Nice watch to track fitness results. Many functions that are easy to use. The GPS works very well and nice downloads of workout to phone. Charge last a long time.

I hesitated between the AirTag and a GPS tracker to have an exact location of my luggage after all the news channels were reporting the catastrophes of travelling summer 2022 (by the way nothing happened after 6 different flights). After all the online videos and reports of how well the AirTag works, I was convinced to buy and try. Any GPS tracker would need an extra monthly subscription. The AirTag does not have any extra fees and the location find was always working even across the Atlantic ocean. So far, so good.

I built a star tracker out of a strap hinge to prove to myself that it would work. It did and I have outgrown the home made star tracker. This is the first one that I have ever used. I found it easy to setup, but you don't get a lot of lateral movement from the mount so you have to be pretty close to north before you start. Once setup it worked flawlessly. Three to five minute exposures at 24mm is no problem. I can set my ISO to 400 and get great star shots with virtually no noise.

These things disappear too easily. They need a built-in tracker. Like Life360. Sticking to SanDisk as they have the best warranty. Get some.

My backup camera (6DMKII) has built-in GPS and I would have loved to see it in the R-5, but they chose not to. So, this Canon GPS receiver is plan B. It is a bit difficult to set up, but once you discover you don't need a cable to set it up, then it gets easy to follow directions. It works great on my R5 and I love knowing where exactly I took an image. I gave it a 5-star rating for the quality and ease of use. Grab one while you can because they run out of stock quickly.

I admit it. I'm an*l. I like to know exactly--or within a few feet anyway--of where I was when I took the pic. My 5d4 had the GPS built in. My R5 doesn't. I tried the Canon phone app for geo-tagging, but sometimes the locations were hundreds, if not thousands of feet off. That's just not acceptable to me. This device works great and mostly gets it right. It will go about 35-40 hours, near as I can tell, on a AA battery.

I initially thought it will be worse than built-in GPS but turns out it works so much better for my workflow Since it can take sometimes for the device/camera to connect to GPS satellite. I set the location duration to 5mins and let the device running throughout the session and GPS is available almost immediately when I take a photo. The battery lasts ~1 whole day and it only use one AA battery

I guess I should say it's way better than the phone app **on my phone**. My beloved 5d4 had the GPS built in and it was a feature that I found invaluable. It was great and functioned exactly like one would expect. To not have that same technology built into the R5 was a major letdown. However, the GP-E2 has fixed the problem that the phone/app created--that of very imprecise location data. Whether it was the phone or the app, I have no idea, and it doesn't matter. I figure that I don't need a GPS inside a building (where I might need the hot shoe for a flash), so having the E2 in the hot shoe is really not a problem. Battery usage is quoted as about 40 hours, and I've used the unit for 2 straight days, with no indication that the battery was weak.
