Fl Studio Mic Recording Only In Mono

It's been a few years since being in need of a new headphone amp. I've owned an older version of a Rolls headphone amp and I really liked it for my professional recording studio... so much so that I bought 4 of them for all my sound rooms. It's been several years since I left the recording industry but over the last year I've been podcasting with some friends of mine and I'm getting my new (tiny) home studio up while upgrading equipment when I have the extra cash to do so. I ran across this beauty that has everything I need, plus more! This is a major step up from the ones I owned in the early 90's. The biggest plus and difference is being able to use other 1/4 or 1/8 jack on the front. It saves me from making sure I have the correct adapter if someone brings his or her own headphones or earbuds. It also has the LINK/JOIN capability of which I have used on previous models and comes in super handy if daisy chaining more than one box together. Works in either mono or stereo. You can't pan but that's not really the purpose for which this was designed. If you need more individual control as opposed to a stereo or mono headphone signal, I'd suggest buying a small 4 channel mixer. It's quiet and discrete, I don't hear any extra added component hum or buzz even when linking two or more boxes. It's not having to drive a bunch of wattage so the unit itself doesn't radiate any measurable heat to the touch. My signal chain: I have my Soundcraft Signature 12MTK headphone out (stereo) TRS 1/4 to 1/4 split L/R into the headphone amp. I drive the Soundcraft headphone out gain about three-quarters to full. The headphone amp takes care of the rest of the gain. No hesitation in purchasing another one of these. No hesitation in recommending this headphone amp to others. I've owned other and less expensive headphone amps but none of them have all the functionality and solid workhorse longevity as the Roll RA53B. 5 |

Excellent use: Recording or live-streaming from your phone. Improve the recorded/streamed audio sent from your phone, with an external mic that you can place closer to the person speaking. This adapter converts a standard mono mic mini-plug, like from a blue-tooth or wired clip-on, to work with the mic-earbud connection on the phone. Converts to dual-mono in the process. Good audio is the key to good video! 5 |

I have a $2,100 Neumann TLM 67 mic, at my Recording Studio, but I needed a decent studio condenser mic that would allow me to produced all my projects, (with Vocals), at my home studio, with no extra pre-amps or XLR cabling. This mic blew me away! The C01U is an EXCELLENT purchase. 5 |

Superb mic that makes the H5 a great recording device. Only thing missing is a protective cover which could protect this device when not in use. The base recording unit H5 does have its own plastic container. 5 |

Great monitor headphones and solidly built swappable wires. Only have used the mic once, recording synth through guitar amp into Ableton via usb-c hub, some popping interference at first but the sound otherwise was great. 5 |

There really isn't a whole lot to say here, so I'm going to keep it pretty brief. This is an outstanding-sounding mic. The response is rich and incredibly transparent. For somple people it may sound too clinical, but to my ears it's a great match. It certainly packs a punch with regard to low frequency pickup, one can really feel the street resonance from tailpipes and trucks driving by during ambience recording. If going handheld, you will certainly need to mitigate the low end content with the MZF8000, otherwise if used in a shockmount windjammer system a, Rycote connbox will be necessary. I personally use this mic paired with an MKH 30 Side for M/S. A very slight warning is that when boosted a lot (as in, 50dB or more), there will be light hiss extending into the upper harmonics, which if the recording is pitched down (since it captures up to 50kHz) will be noticeable. Again, this is ONLY if you boost the signal by such an obscene amount deemed criminal by proper signal flow recording practices, and ONLY in the extreme upper harmonics. Aside from that this mic is for all practical purposes noise-free. Such a small mic which packs such a punch. I would gladly invest in more mics from the 8000 series. You certainly get what you pay for. 5 |

Only bummer is you can't monitor while recording. 5 |
