Flat Vs Curved Rear View Mirror

These radios are amazing. Installed in my Jeep above my rear view mirror and I am stoked about it. It’s small enough to not be in the way but is great for communicating with fellow Jeep’s. I used the ghost antenna so that it didn’t get wiped out by limbs on the trail. I’m thinking of purchasing the 6db antenna to help increase my range. I feel you can’t go wrong with this radio! Will be purchasing another for my sons Jeep. 5 |

Glad that it has a flat slot for screwdriver, rather than a curved one for a coin... 5 |

Good for what it is. I love how the legs on this thing are flat but slightly curved offering great support on textured road cases. 5 |

The 135i is built really well as well as the strip holders. I have some negatives slightly curved and they lay perfectly flat in the holder. I appreciate that I can do batch scans and not have to do one by one manually. Their own software is very generic so opt for a 3rd party app to get the best results. 5 |

It forms to whatever windows flat (home) curved (cars&planes) filters, globes, it also make a nice cushion in the camera bag 5 |

This monitor is most certainly well rounded and equipped to handle the creative who needs color accuracy and screen real estate but also wants to tackle some gaming. everything looks vibrant and sharp. I have edited several photo sessions and edited a couple video projects since purchase and colors come out looking just like they did during workflow. I would recommend to calibrate this monitor though as i plan to do the same. My only issue is not with the monitor but my brain as i have worked on a curved for a few years and this being flat i am seeing the the flat panel as curved backwards lol. 5 |

I use two of these to hold up a DIY window to prevent lens flare when back lighting. The window is heavy, made of 1/4 MDF wood and covered with duvetyne fabric. It weights almost two pounds. Two clamps on a vertical light stand pole hold it securely. They also work great on horizontal rods of different diameters too. With one curved side and one flat, they work great for clamping reflectors or other flat materials to curved surfaces. Swiss made - should last forever. I can't find anything else to match them. Highly recommended. 5 |

Switching from and LG 24" flat (2yrs old) to this Samsung 24" Curved and let me tell you, it's night and day. First of, going from 1000:1 to 3000:1 ratio makes you feel how crisp pixels are. Also, you have dynamic, gamer and eyes saver mode which are pretty neet. Easy to install, plug and play in a jiffy! 5 |

In the mid-1980s I bought a Nikon 7.5mm f5.6 circular fisheye. Being an older design (1966) its rear elements protruded into the mirror box. Fortunately my F3 had a hard physical mirror lockup. The external viewfinder for this lens attached to the camera on the original Nikon F/F2’s proprietary flash shoe. I was able to buy an AS-3 flash adapter for the F3. With the F3s mirror locked up I also had to use an hand-held light meter. With amazing depth of foield focusing was never an issue. The old zoom lens had six filters on a wheel. One was a skylight and the other five were strongly colored for B&W film. While I liked the circular results, using the lens was a hassle. I often had my shoes or forehead in the picture. On a sunny day, my images suffered from solar flares. My new Nikon 8-15mm AF-S fisheye has none of those old problems. It fits on my DSLRs without any problem. It doesn’t need an external finder or separate light meter. At the 8mm setting (and lens hood off) I get a circular image very much like the vintage fisheye. The new lens is faster and focusable. Like my 14mm f2.8 Nikkor, this zoom uses gel filters inserted in the rear of the lens. I really don’t like this arrangement. This fisheye is similar in weight and size to the 14mm lens. I am also not fond of the electronic aperture control first seen on G lenses. Without an aperture ring one cannot use this zoom on older cameras. At the longer end of the zoom range (12-15mm) the image fills the (FX) frame and lens hood stays out of the way. This image is similar to my inexpensive Bower (Samyang?) 8mm fisheye with its fixed lens hood (and DX coverage). So far I haven’t used my new lens much but I think I will like it. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This for me has been the best of the best. Immersive experiences because of the curved screen along with range of view improvements with reduced glare from the curved surface. Refresh rate appears deceptively slow as it is rated at 60hz but is never outpaced by even the most challenging of games or programs. This was a "splurge purchase" and one I do not regret! 5 |
