Flatbed Scanner For Film

This is a great scanner, but there are better, and there are many variables to consider. However, I'd say this is by far the best flatbed scanner on the market! That is a big deal in its own right. I scan 35mm and 4x5 film...mostly 35mm. Shy of a Hasselblad Flextight, for $10k plus, or a second hand Nikon 5000ED for $+or-, the Epson performs quite well! The film holders are an improvement from previous models, but they are still a little clumsy. They are sturdy, however, and you get a double set in the box. The 35mm holders can take up to 18 frames though, and that's super convenient. All in all I'd buy this scanner again. Start up time is super quick, it's quiet and produces quality results! 5 |

The FastFoto FF-680W works as advertised. I still use my flatbed scanner for film negatives and slides, but for documents and photo prints, this thing is WAY faster and easier, with great quality results. I was overwhelmed by the idea of digitizing my boxes and boxes of family photos and documents, but now the project is cruising right along! 5 |

The DigitaLIZA is, for me, so quick to set up and easy to use. And I get better results than with my flatbed scanner. 5 |

I love how fast this scanner works, so much better than a flatbed. It's very easy to hook up and use. 5 |

Awesome printer, but I wish the flatbed scanner was functional, sublimation prints have come out fantastic so far. 5 |

I have had two other scanners in the past but the Epson Perfection V850 is probably the best professional flatbed scanner by far and along with ICE software that comes with it. 5 |

Cable was purchased to connect flatbed scanner to desktop Apple computer. Cable was very inexpensively priced and works perfectly. 5 |

I was looking to replace an older flatbed scanner and after reading many reviews settled on the ScanSnap iX1600. I am very pleased with it. Super fast duplex scan rate, color scanning, and can even scan via wifi. I highly recommend this scanner. 5 |

This is the second Epson flatbed scanner I've purchased over the years. I had some technical issues with the first model and upgraded to the V600 and have been using it with great success for the past three years. My latest and most ambitious project was the digitalizing of my entire photo collections to include thousands of prints, slides, and negatives. This daunting task (still ongoing) was accomplished rather routinely once becoming familiar with the accompanying software. The work was tedious and slow, but the results were acceptable for my needs. However, if I was to do it again, I would seriously consider using equipment specialized for slides/negatives as the flimsy V600 attachment for these formats can be problematic at times. Flat documents such as prints, charts, letters, receipts, etc. were quickly scanned with great success. 5 |
