Fm Am Shortwave Portable Stereo Receiver

The FM receiver is great, the AM is very good.... just not alot of stations to test it anymore. Great sound quality,and simple design with real walnut. Bluetooth works great, speaker sounds better than would have expected for the small size. The outputs are nice for recording broadcasts.

I live in a hilly area where FM is sketchy and only few stations come trough, but AM radio rules. Radio is great, and both AM and FM antennas work well. Interestingly, Yamaha seems to be the only one on the market with FM. On the amplifier side it works with an older JVC tape deck, but if I want to listen to vinyl, an additional preamp is needed on the way to the receiver, receiver's amplifier alone won't work. Once preamp is in place all sounds fine. The Bluetooth is the receive mode to play from the devices. This is not a send mode Bluetooth to Bluetooth speakers, as some users assume.

I use this receiver for AM/FM radio, CD, and IPod. It is simple, and does the job very well. AB speakers, either or all. Great price. all in all I'm very happy with this unit.

The sound from this portable AM FM radio is very good loud or very soft. It picks up lots of stations nearby or out of state with clear reception with out drifting in and out. The station indicator is accurate and is very easy to lock in on the station you desire. I bought it because it runs on AC OR 4 AA batteries. The case is solid and very well made. It has a folding handle that can stand rough outdoor life. It could use a dial light. Beware it is a single speaker radio not stereo.

Good FM sound, easy to tune, portable. Haven't used AM. What else do you want in a radio?

I have owned many portable AM/FM radios over the years. Did extensive research & chose this model and brand. Once I knew what I wanted then I researched both price and vendors. B&H had the best price and best delivery & service! And this review is coming from an Amazon Prime member. B&H and Panasonic are an unbeatable combination. Tested this radio & it is the best that is why I bought two.

I bought this about a month ago to replace a 34 year old (!) Sony Stereo receiver. The old one had AM-FM receiver capability. This one only has FM Receiver built-in, but it sounds a lot cleaner than the older model. This one has fewer output jacks than my older one, but is more than adequate for my setup (Sony Stereo Cassette Deck - going on 20 years now also !), and a bluetooth Audio-Technica Record Player. This model also contains the regular size headphone jack AND a standard audio output jack on the front for older style cassette players, walkman's, etc. Very unusual feature but useful for me as I still use some of that older gear from time to time. I primarily bought and use this product for its bluetooth capability which works excellently. I have my phone, and computer able to play music to it through bluetooth. I realize bluetooth specs don't carry the full frequency range for a lot of audio musical pieces (such as classical music), but for the everyday average pop music it's just fine. This is a great entry level unit for a person who is not an audio-phile. I also bought this because of Sony durability in its products. This thing is built like a brick. Good design accents, solid metal frame, heavy duty components. I will always buy Sony products - good balance between cost, design, and functionality. Couldn't be happier with this product.

This stereo receiver checks off all the features we need. The first selling points were the Bluetooth and FM receiver and the ability to connect to the room's built-in speakers in a small compact unit. It is a perfect size.

I got some of these a few years ago when the Eneloop was being sold under the Sanyo name. Now I can power my am/fm/shortwave radio with my existing rechargable aa's and charger. No need to buy rechargable D's and charger for them. However, they may not work well with devices that use D batteries and draw alot of current.

I was happy myself to buy a radio and FM/AM Clock Radio.
