Format Usb Flash Drive To Exfat

NOTE TO PC USERS: You might need to format the drive as EXFAT instead of NTFS to copy from the iPad to the drive. I'm surprised at how small this drive is. It's smaller than my card reader. When used with USB C connection (PC), it is crazy fast at moving files. It connected to my iPad Pro flawlessly and plays HD from the drive with no lag. It looks like it was designed to match iMacs and other apple devices (looks great). I'm a PC myself. This drive does not work with my iPhone 11Pro max. I believe it only works with tablets and PC/Macs. 5 |

The drive is fast and completely quiet, but if you use it with Windows, you should format it as NTFS. It comes as an exFAT, which will work with Mac and Windows, but with Windows it is slow and annoying. The drive has it's own software for formating, but that requires you to be online. Since I use this drive with a DAW that stays offline, I used Windows 10 formating option when I clicked on Properties. Quick format was instantaneous. 5 |

If you format on a PC and plan to use it to record an iphone please format in the exFAT format otherwise it won't be recognized. 5 |

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly. 5 |

Good drive, but if you are a Mac user, be sure to reformat the Drive to MAC OS Journaled. It used to be the case that ExFat was okay if you needed to share a drive between a Mac and a PC user. But with the newer OS updates, my ExFat drives no longer read the data in Final Cut Pro X. What a hassle! I have to buy another one of these just to use it as a transfer tool so I can re-format my ExFat drives. That takes a lot of time and money. Hope that helps someone out there NOT to make the mistake I made. 5 |

I bought this Flash Drive as a traveling backup for my photos. Typically, I take between 100Gb and 200Gb of photos on a trip so this gives me plenty of space. The small size is ideal as is the light weight. I connected it to my MacbookPro USB-C using a Uni 4 port USB-A to USB-C hub with no problems.I ran a quick test when I received the drive and it took 2 minutes to transfer just over 15Gb (212 files) from my MacbookPro to the drive. So it's pretty fast. It took just two days to get here (Arizona) from B&H and was cheaper than buying from Amazon. So I'm a happy camper. 5 |
