It didn’t erase the USB thumb drive that, before after a format would say copy protected? Other than that seems to work good.

I use windows 8.1 quite often. On this mac, all drives (except the internal flash drive) are external. Windows runs great off Thunderbolt connected drives. You can have multiple window drives and select the one you want on boot by holding down the option key.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

22TB SanDisk Pro G-Drive drive review I'm using this drive in a large photo and film Archive. I purchase a sample drive to test out before committing to more drives. The reformat to Windows is a pain. Luckily, I found a YT video that walked me through it. After reformatting the drive to Windows, the 22TB shrunk to 20TB. That is disappointing. It is not that noisy, just a few clicks once in a while. It is decently fast and really kinda quiet. I am using a USB3.0 port with Oyen adapter cable to go from USB C to USB A. SanDisk only gives you a USB C cable. Time will tell how they hold up, but if they do hold up, I plan to buy a few more.

This OWC Gemini 36 TB Drive Dock is the perfect solution for archiving my photos. I purchased this unit to replace an older HDD that was slowing down my workflow as it had relatively low read/write speeds. This OWC Dock has super fast read and write speeds (more than double that of my old HDD), and was easy to set up with my Lenovo P16 laptop running Windows 11 Pro. Setup was very straightforward - i.e. once it was powered up and recognized by Windows just click on My PC in File Explorer and then click on the icon for the OWC Drive and select the OWC Setup application for a PC. Steps are similar for a Mac. Then just follow the prompts in the software to format the drives (NTFS for Windows). Note that the default setting is for RAID 0, but it can also be formatted for RAID 1, SPAN, and JBOD. Others have commented that it is noisy, and that is true. But mine is set up in a desk enclosure that is ventilated (the unit also has an internal cooling fan) so the noise is considerably muffled. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. So far it has performed as advertised and has fully met my expectations.

I used it to format an SSD, then copy music to it with Windows 10. I am using it with the same drive in my equinox. No complaints.

I purchased this to use as the second drive in a SFF computer. It showed up immediately in windows and I was able to format and start using it without any issues.
