If you have USB 2 drives on your older computer then stay with PNY 64 GB Flash Drives. They work and are FAT 32 formated. No Problems with these Flash Drives. I tried 128 GB Flash Drives that were suppose to work on USB 2 thru USB 3. My first file copied to them and the memory crashed and burned. I ordered the PNY 64 GB USB 2 and they are excellent. Smaller GB but always work.

Like most other OWC products, this one is built to last - sturdy aluminum, four screws for each drive to hold it in place etc. My computer has a full-power USB 3.1 connector so I don't use the AC adaptor that came with enclosure and it works just fine. This enclosure is on the pricey side but well worth the money. At first, I had a bit of a struggle to get the enclosure recognize my drives. I use it in the mirror mode and I had two drives of the same capacity but different models. If you are going to buy new drives - heed the advise OWC gives in the user manual and buy two *identical* ones, it will make your life easier. After some fumbling and switching the drive slots, it finally recognized them and began rebuilding the RAID, which took me a full day. Once it finished, it is pretty much connect and forget - it just works. Some people complained about the write speeds - I use this as a backup and my drives are spindle ones (not SSD) so depending on whether I copy a lot of small files or a few large ones, I can get sustained write speed anywhere from 1MB/s (worst case, lots of small files) to 6-10 MB/s average or sometimes much better. On the balance, I find it adequate for a USB RAID drive, my other RAIDs performed much worse.

I love these flash drives. They write with good speed and make it easy for me to give footage to my clients on the go.

Different USB flash drives have significantly different read/write speeds. This SanDisk Ultra is several times faster than cheaper flash drives. The SanDisk Ultra Pro is even faster, but a lot more expensive. This one seems to be the sweet spot in terms of performance vs. price. If you use a flash drive for transferring large files between your work computer and your home computer like I do, it's worth buying a better flash drive that has read/write speeds like this one. I'm attaching a Crystal DiskMark test that shows the read/write speeds of this flash drive

The read/write performance of these flash drives is superior to anything I have tested. I found it more than adequate to record like data like video streaming. Using AJA to test read/write speeds with 512k files I record 160Mbs read and 61Mbs write speeds. I'm very pleased.

I have used SanDisk flash drives for years and never had one go bad. For the past year or so I have use the 512GB and have not had any problems with read or write speeds and they are very convenient to use, just plug them into the computer and they are ready to go, no wires to at attach. The SanDisk 512GB holds a lot of information and easily fits into my pocket when I need to go somewhere.

Even though there are many higher capacity USB drives available, my Subaru will only support USB 2.0 drives for use in the audio system ports. And this in a 2021 vehicle! It also supports FAT32 but not exFAT. I wanted several drives that I could use in this system and these are super affordable. I bought two packs of three drives.
