Fraction Sign On Computer Keyboard

I had a MacBook Pro from 2015 that started to show the sign of age recently and decided it was time to upgrade my computer. I love the computer. I am basic functionality user. I don't use any complicated software on this computer so I cannot attest to that. My only negative remark was that I lost Origin (a video game software from EA games). There is probably a fix out there I just have not found it yet. If you know a Mac then it feels essentially the same as any other system. The color options are good and the overall shell of the computer feels more substantial like that of Pro than the previous Airs which was a selling point for me.

This is the second Zagg Case/Keyboard I have owned. It’s the only keyboard that I have found that allows me to type as I would on a full sized computer keyboard.

This IOGEAR GCS110-4 4-Port KVMP switch is my first purcahse of this type of gear...should have bought one years ago. I had checked out one of the other brands, but the manufacturer's web-site had the same photo and description for two models, very confusing. I am using this switch with three computer, Win7, Win8.1 and a Linux rig. I keep the fourth port open for testing other computers, no need to connect one being tested to a separate keyboard and mouse setup. This switch allows me to easily switch between computers via keyboard shortcuts. I have a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse which share a single wireless USB dongle, plugging the dongle into the keyboard USB port of the monitor area of the switch allows me to use the keyboard and mouse on all computers. I did have to uninstall the Logitech software which allowed for custom keyboard layout (volume up/down, next track, etc.) as it seemed to conflict with the way the KVMP switch emulated Keyboard and Mouse Control...not an issue for me in this case. I am not a hard-core gamer, thus do not have a mouse with 92 buttons on it..more of a FPS and Flight Sim guy here. I like the fact that I can switch the keyboard/mouse, Vidoe and USB separately from the audio, that is I can have music playing on one computer, switch the Keyboard/Mouse, Video, and USB to another computer and still hear the music from the first computer. I have all my external drives and printers connected directly to the Win7 computer working as a server for all my data. I have a USB hub connected to the KVMP input which is accessed by whichever computer I am using for such things as my web-cam, joystick, multimedia card reader, and ID CAC Card Reader. I started taking IT classes and now I can easily do remote access, learned how to access Windows Shared Folders from the Linux box...and more, having the computers side by side with one control system is a Godsend. I would recommend this switch to anyone considering such a purchase.

I use this Mac Pro as a home computer but do some video editing and encoding. I replaced a very fast G5 but this Mac Pro's encoding times are just a fraction of the time my G5 took to encode. Managing my picture and music libraries also take just a fraction of the time. With 2 young kids I just don't have the time to tinker around on PC's anymore. This thing does exactly what I need it to do in minimal time. More time to spend with the kids. ...

I originally bought a cheap Chinese knockoff for a fraction of the cost, Needless to say, when I had my computer wide open and ready to screw the SSD into the optical bay drive bracket, I found the cheap component to be worthless. I ordered this OWC product, after their super drive external converter worked perfectly, paid for rushed shipping and solved the problem within a minute.The moral, don't buy knockoffs of specialty items.
