Framing A Projector Screen

We use this projector screen in our church activities.

Took two weeks to get since it was a special order. But worth the wait. I love the upgrade. I went from a white 1.0 gain to cinegrey 1.2 gain and what an improvement with the contrast. Especially the blacks stand out. But beware, you have adjust the brightness of the projector otherwise you end up with more projector light in the middle. Also, elite screens changed the framing from the older heavier and sturdier materials to the new more flimsy assembly and lighter aluminum framing on the SaberFrames.

I installed them next to my projector screen and they sound great.

Anyone looking to extend there monitor onto a TV screen or projector this is the way to go.

Made in China, but overall quality is impressive. The package contains even strap. LCD screen is sufficient for framing, but not for manual focusing.

The screen is very durable, feels like metal framing inside the fabric. As long as you have something to lean it against, itll stand up on its own. If youre shooting in an open area it would need to be supported in some way. Breakdown is a little complicated and requires two people to manipulate it into the case, unless youre a wizard. The screen does not wrinkle easily. All in all this is a smart buy.

This works great as a reference viewer when taping yourself alone (selfie mode), or if you want to see the framing of what is being recorded while you are in front of the camera. And this is especially helpful if your camera's lcd screen doesn't swivel around. This is the case with a lot of the Sony's or other brands that have screens that just tilt up. I find this accessory a great pairing with my Sony A73 with a screen that only flips up. The mirror is big enough to keep an eye on the framing and what is happening in the background. Fits right on the cold shoe of the camera and works just as advertised. Another nice feature is this has cold shoes on all three sides so I can now add even more accessories attachments, like a small light or small mic, which is great. Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us.

This thing worked great. This is just what I needed to get my screen up and another screen to my projector up at the same time in my sanctuary. This was great.
