The diffuser converts this umbrella into a big soft box with a big zone of very soft light. So if you in a small shooting space and who isn't, you put it all the way back in one corner or the other, you stay out of the way of the light so you don't cast a shadow on your subject and shoot. You have quite a bit of latitude because the correct exposure is a big zone at the other end of the room. The inverse square law is working for you at this distance. Another option is to bring it up close directly behind you in which case light goes past you on each side and you cast no shadow. 5 |

I tried ring flash, studio lights, shadow box etc. This system gives the best results for micro/closeup photography. It is light weight, fairly easy to set up. Onboard flash from D300, D7K can trigger them in commander mode very easily. Great system! 5 |
