I am using this with my Tascam recorder which leaves my hands free to do other tasks.

I use this recorder to capture sounds in nature when I hike and also to record me playing my jawharp on the go.

This cable allows me to capture audio directly from a DJs speaker and go directly into my audio recorder. It works like a charm!

7 frames/second with 18b battery. Lightweight. No cons so far.

A must have for me when using this field recorder, the only thing missing is a screen! LED let you know when you're recording and what inputs you are using.

The sound you can record with this recorder at this price range is amazing, not only you can use it as a recorder but also as a microphone that you can use directly to your windows/mac pc with a cable. Microphone is very sensitive so I suggest you get a windscreen

The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Plus is pretty much just plug-n-play and it works great. Both Windows and Linux PCs recognized it immediately. Tried it with my Nikon DSLR and a Cannon camcorder and both were flawless. Currently using this with Cannon camcorder to stream church services during Covid-19 and giving my smartphone a break. (Note, no fault of this product, but my Linux PC didn't see the audio feed from the Magewell, so I had to plug audio into the computer's mic-in port, but Windows saw the audio feed along with the video right away.)

I have been using Zoom's portable recorders for many years now primarily to capture sound on video shoots. I still own my original H4n and purchased the H6 in 2014. The H6's preamps are much better than the H4n's, especially when used with the Rode NTG-3 and even a dynamic mic like the Shure SM58. I can't say I love the layout of the controls and the angle of the screen, but the knobs for controlling each channel are a huge step up from the H4n. The six independent channels have been a life-saver. I have even used this recorder on a feature-length documentary that has since been presented at numerous film festivals. I've received numerous compliments on the sound all captured with the H6. Anybody that says you can't use the H6 to capture great audio hasn't had the chance to try it. Sure, it's no SoundDevices 633, but for a fraction of the price, you can achieve great results as long as you choose your mics correctly. The only issue I've had has just shown up-nearly three years later. Two of the inputs and preamps in the H6 are very noisy now and I have had to bypass them to achieve an acceptable noise level. That said, I think this is an issue of how much use this recorder has had, and would not slight the product. Just time for an upgrade.
