Amazing sound! Works well on Linux; however, the majority of free software is just for Windows or Mac. I'm currently using it with Harrison MixBus v6 and work like a charm. This laptop is an outstanding value! I’m a Mac guy, and needed a Windows machine for certain bits of software. The screen resolution is impressive. Signing-in with facial recognition is incredibly handy. The built-in camera cover is a thoughtful feature. AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat run very well and the previously mentioned screen resolution makes work easy on the eyes. Touchscreen? Backlit keyboard? At a mid-$600 price point are surprising features. I’d buy this laptop again.

I use windows 8.1 quite often. On this mac, all drives (except the internal flash drive) are external. Windows runs great off Thunderbolt connected drives. You can have multiple window drives and select the one you want on boot by holding down the option key.
