The Netgear cable modem CM1000 version 2 has a user name of admin and a password of password which is not secure. I would recommend changing the password. Additionally, the throughput I experienced is about 1.3 gigabytes. I also have a Netgear Nighthawk cm 2000 which has 2.5 gigabytes internet speed and a secure password installed by default. I would recommend the Netgear Nighthawk CM2000 over the Netgear cable modem CM 1000 version 2.

This encrypted flash drive allows you to create a password (7 - 16 digits) that needs to be entered to access it's contents. No device will recognize this flash drive unless the password is entered first. Though there is a simple set of instructions included on how to set Admin and User passwords, I found them a little difficult to follow. The manufacturer, Apricorn, has a YouTube channel. The Aegis Secure Key drive has a metal body and an internal rechargeable battery. It comes formatted for use on PCs and Android smart televisions. It comes with a thick rubber case that the drive slides into. I've only had mine for a two weeks. But haven't encountered any problems with it. I recommend the Apricorn Aegis Secure Key.

After figuring out how to use it, I am so satisfied with it I bought another one. SanDisk makes a fine product. Also, there is a secure, password protected file as well. I also use SanDisk flash drives for my PC.

Hook up cable, connect to Mac, password update, firmware check, call ISP, disconnect from Mac, connect to router, and done, 10 minutes tops.

It does everything I want it to. It's handy to carry or to hold. It's secure and its handle for hands free use.
