I've been using protools for about 10 years in my recording studio and I think is the best software for record, edit and mix music. I got this version for working in my laptop and now I can work everywhere. The native plug ins woks very well and you can get others of your preference that run well too. For shure I will continue using protools in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mdrill Microphone is great for many different recording activities. I currently use mine for game streaming and recording podcast. It has 4 recording patterns so you can try them all to find the best settings for quality sound. The controls are simple to understand and use. There is no software download required to use. Just plug it in your computer and select it as a device in your software settings. The sound is high quality.

I mix video and sound from two different sources into the Dazzle recording software. It really does a great job. I am very satisfied.

I?m no sound expert and I still edit with free software but even I could tell this wasn?t lightyears ahead of the onboard mic. Bought for my Canon 80D and it?s perfect. No more motor sounds when it focuses or zooms. No more scratching and banging the camera and worrying the mic is picking it up. Plus the wind fuzzy does its job well!

Amazing sound! Works well on Linux; however, the majority of free software is just for Windows or Mac. I'm currently using it with Harrison MixBus v6 and work like a charm. Excellent AD converters and the 4k button adds a remarkable hi-end characteristic. You can go wrong with this SSL gear. SSL, please, add official support for Linux, we are a vast community.

This device has been an excellent investment for my needs. I've been using it for field recording, recording sound effects and voice-overs, and also as a USB audio interface for my computer. The pre-amps are the cleanest and most powerful that I've ever used (no need for a Cloudlifter with low output mics like the SM7B), 32-bit depth makes recording virtually stress-free and allows you to have an entirely floating point workflow from start to finish, and the presets can be saved to an SD card for backing up, sharing, or even version control (i.e. Git). I've read a lot of complaints about the battery sled, but I have used a USB-C battery bank from the beginning, which far outlasts the reports of the AA batteries draining quickly. Note about using it as an audio interface: I needed to connect a ground loop noise isolator in line to deliver a noise-free signal to my studio monitors. The resulting sound output by the monitors is crystal clear and transparent.
