Free Surveillance Camera Recording Software

The Synology Surveillance Station software is the best security camera software we have used, having tried two before this. It is more costly having to buy licenses for each camera you want to use but at least the licenses are transferrable between hardware upgrades and not bound to a specific camera's MAC Address or hardware. The software is very smooth and easy to use with advanced feature available if needed. It has otherwise been very plug-n-play switching over.

There are lots of free applications for IP Cameras, but if you're serious about IP Surveillance you can't do better than Axis Camera Station, and the best way to acquire the licenses is from B&H.

I have purchased a lot of these drives that I use in Synology NAS devices as security surveillance. They work great with no problems. They are durable and work perfectly for surveillance recording. If you are recording video surveillance, these are the drives you need.

CMOS camera and software provides excellent control over recording conditions. Recent viewing session had clear skies but windy conditions so the telescope image was very jumpy. Nevertheless, using short exposure times the resulting captured videos of the moon are excellent. I look forward to nights with more stable conditions in order to use long exposure settings on fainter objects.

This is an excellent camera. It has both a wide angle and the support from Logitech was outstanding. The software, although free, which does not accompany the camera was somewhat difficult to locate. The documentation for the camera is sadly inadequate, so accessing its full capability is more of a trial and error experience. This camera is an excellent choice despite these shortcomings.

Awesome software and it came free with the purchase of a computer

This item came for free when I purchased my Rode on camera video mic. I attached this to my mic while recording at a windy racetrack and was able to capture crisp sound. This is a MUST BUY if you're buying a Rode VideoMic Pro.

Enable remote or human contact free operation of the camera recording. My camera (D5300) is able to configure the remote release to start/stop video recording or to take a picture. Yes, this is plastic construction but is is durable for normal use. On/Off of the receiver requires a several second press so the until cannot be accidentally turned on or off.
