Front Load Washer Smokes At Higher Rpm

These are now selling for $0.95 more than the old model of this WD Red Pro 6TB drive with half the RAM on the drive and  9% lower throughput. The 7200 RPM provides 36% higher  data I/O rates than the 5400 RPM drives and yet are still relatively quiet drives.For a NAS that is not going to be continually accessed the drive noise levels even in a 5 drive enclosure is minimal and my NAS is less than 3 feet from my desk. The higher I/O rate means that should a drive fail (and these have a 5-year warranty) the time to rebuild it will be much less than with either 5400 RPM drives or drives of greater capacity. With 5 of these in a NAS that is configured for RAID5 I get a total capacity with the formatted drives of a little over 21TB for a cost per TB of $55. The drives were shipped out by in factory packaging and not loose loaded as with some dealers. Expedited shipping though left a lot to be desired as it took 5 days to receive the drives.

I was a bit worried the higher rpm would be noisy but it isn't. B&H is always great and was with the delivery on this as well. The drives are great and I hope to get many years of service from them. I've traditionally had good luck with these drives, but the 10 TB is larger than I've had in the past so we will see. Overall very happy and have good luck so far with them.

I know this ball head load was rated much higher than I needed (8 lbs) but I wanted to make sure that I had some headroom in case I acquired some large glass. It is extreme stable and, when adjusted properly for your gear weight (instructions cover how), you can reposition the camera with ease. One tip: if you secure the BC-139 to your tripod base and then lock it on with set screws under the base, don't tighten the screws too far or the pano adjustment drags considerably.

This clamp kit is of higher quality and load capacity than I expected which is perfect for my needs. I need it to mount a small aluminum solar shade over my camera for long duration time aymosperic time lapse shots. This heavy duty arm and clamp can easily handle lite to moderate wind loads when attached to the top of my tripod.

Due to their higher load carrying capacity I chose to purchase two of these heavy duty light stands instead the cheaper aluminum light stands on the market . It was definitely the right choice! The Matthews C stands are very strong and extremely versatile. As a result, I've decided to purchase at least four more in the future.

Far more solid than a C-stand - heaver too. Has a lot higher load capacity that a C-stand with a wider stance and an Junior receiver or baby pin. Fits in my 36 travel case for checked baggage. Requires sand bags with a boom because of the limited footprint. A great alternative when space is limited. Matthews high quality throughout this steel stand.
