I own almost every Fuji lens for the X-mount system and this is one I was determined never to purchase, considering that I almost never use my 18-55 zoom and consider the 16-55 as a benchmark. I finally decided to get this superzoom as a backup (a kind of security blanket when I intend to go out with a single prime lens but want a do-it-all secondary lens just in case). Well, I'm really impressed with the image quality all across the focal range with this zoom. I would not hesitate to use this lens even as a primary lens when I am uncertain about what focal length I was to use on a given outing. Perhaps I wouldn't be as happy if I was into pixel peeping, but that's just not what I do. The main limitation is that it's difficult to get a shallow depth of field, but that is unavoidable with a superzoom, especially one this light and compact. My only complaint is that the zoom ring gets tight at long focal lengths, which is not confidence inspiring. In this sense, the build quality is perhaps somewhat questionable. But it doesn't detract from image quality, at leas on my copy. In short, this lens should serve its backup purpose well and, thus, allow me to use prime lenses and carry only few of them at any time. Highly recommended.

With my Fujifilm XT4 @ 400MBs, 10 bits... I was able to do interviews for long times, without the camera to stop or freeze up.

I got this lens and the 70-300mm for my Fujifilm X-S10 as my previous Fujifilm camera was a super-zoom and I wanted to approximate the range of focal lengths. More details in my review of the X-S10 body.

As a videomaker who is mainly used to using camcorders with built-in zoom lenses, having to buy prime lenses for a camera is a new, and frustrating, experience for me. All the good ones cost a hefty percentage of I paid for my Fujifilm SX-20, and all the reasonably-priced (under $200) lens I've found are manual focus/manual aperture! My first video shoot using one of these lenses turned into something of a disaster.... This TTArtisan 27mm APS-C prime lens that was recommended by various Fujifilm X-mount camerapersons costs $149, has autofocus (which no other TTArtisan lens I've seen so far has), and is possibly even better than advertised! I'm delighted at the quality of the images I've gotten from it, and even more delighted at the relative affordability. I'm even pleased at its low profile on my camera, given the 18-55 mm zoom lens that was part of my SX-20 kit, while excellent, stands out a mile from my camera. I highly recommend this lens, and am BEGGING TTArtisan to please, please make a set of similarly-priced autofocus prime lenses of this quality.

I got this lens and the 16-80mm for my Fujifilm X-S10 as my previous Fujifilm camera was a super-zoom and I wanted to approximate the range of focal lengths. More details in my review of the X-S10 body.

I am using it with my Fuji S5200 superzoom and I am impressed how great pictures I can get even with this old camera. Like with all macro, a lot of light, a lof of patience, and a steady hand (or a tripod) is needed, but it's truly worth it. Even the camera's lens cap fit the Raynox lens so I can protect it when it's on the camera. The only thing I do not like is that the one of DCR's own caps cannot be put on when the lens is in the adapter. Which means that I have to always remove it from the adapter after I am done wth shooting, or keep it unprotected. But it's a minor thing, unless someone needs to switch quickly often between shooting macro and normal.

I purchased the Hoya 55mm Ultraviolet UV Haze HD Digital filter to protect the lens of a superzoom camera. Since a superzoom camera lens is not interchangeable (unlike a digital SLR), it is particularly important to protect the lens. The Hoya filter does the job. I purchased it at about a 66% discount ($). It's specifications indicate a very high quality anti-reflection coating (transmission over 99%), so that it has very little negative impact on the performance of the camera (i.e. very little speed loss), and this also minimizes flare from the filter. Fits my 55mm lens opening with no difficulty.Although the filter also provides UV reduction, I doubt that feature is of much value for a digital camera. Unlike film cameras, I expect a consumer digital camera to have little UV sensitivity anyway, so filtering out the UV serves little purpose. However, I got a very good price, and filtering the UV also does no harm.
