After 1yr with the Leica Ultravid HD-Plus 12x50 binoculars I can say that I'm still amazed with the view, star images are beautiful at 12x and the FOV nice and big at this power, and I use it to take really good smart phone photos as seen it this sunset photo taken 1yr ago and I use this glass for high flying raptors(falcons being my favorite), just fortunate and glad to own a set of this Beautiful quality glass from Leica which I waited 5yrs to buy and now own, very happy with them.

I do some birding, but my primary bino use is for hunting. I have several different sets. I mainly hunt from tree or ground blinds and carry three different purpose binos when the situation permits. These include the 8x32 Ultravid HD Plus, the 7x42 Ultravid HD plus, and a set of Canon L 10x42 IS. Early morning and late evening are the most active times for most wildlife and the 7x42 is ideal for viewing very low light activity. In daylight hours, the Canon L is awesome. It is tack sharp and the IS steadiness and clarity have to be seen to be believed. However, it is heavy, tiring, and exhausting to use for long periods of time. That leaves the Ultravid 8x32 HD Plus. It is as good as it gets once you get a bit more light. It is much better than the human eye for seeing into darkened landscapes and for brightness it has the same geometric light value as the Ultravid HD Plus 10X42. Leica design, quality, and durability are legendary. I still keep my 48 year old Leitz 7X35B set in my vehicle for viewing something of interest when driving. After using an Ultravid 8X32 for many years, I finally purchased the HD Plus model. There is a difference. They are the very sharpest, and the best all around glass I have every used. On a hunt, I use them 80% of my glassing time, For birding, its the only pair I carry.

This is much better than buying a full sandbag... Saved a ton on shipping. Plus, it's the rainy season, so out in residential areas they sometimes have sandbag filling stations for floods. I just took some free sand and filled them up on the way to a job. Oh, and they hold exactly 18 pounds.
