G7 Digital Camera

The PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera is a great little camera. When it was initially released by Canon it sold out very quickly and I had to wait several weeks before it was re-stocked. I love the feel of the camera in my hand. It takes very sharp photographs. As I get older, I find it is difficult to carry some of my DSLR's around on vacation. On my next trip I plan on bringing just my PowerShot G7X which I know will capture some stunning pics.

I have owned many digital cameras, and even some film cameras. Yes, I am that old. I have to say that the G7 is the best bang for the buck out of all of them. Amazing image quality, and stunning video. The 4K video alone is worth the price of admission. Add to that a very capable still camera, and it is a solid package. Good ergonomic, menu system, great articulated display and the viewfinder is bright and sharp. Sure, it's a bit plasticy. And it has a 30 minute video limit unlike its big brother. No Vlog, or some of the high frame rate modes either. For the price however, I don't think anything comes close.

I use it as a back up for my digital camera.

I'm reviewing the B&H Kit value here, I'll review the G7 separately under the Lumix G7 product side.� �I'm doing that because many of the reviews under this kit indicate that the camera does not fit into the included bag...well that's absolutely NOT an issue!!!! The Ruggard Hunter 15 is a very nice, very small camera bag that snugs around the camera nicely...but not too tight.� I would call it a perfect fit!�� The key is that you have to configure the camera bag.� It comes with two Velcro straps at the bottom that prevent the camera from being fully inserted into the case.� �From factory, those two straps are mounted high & close together and the camera will not fit into the bag.� �However, if you remove the Velcro straps the camera fits just fine!� � I actually use one of the straps...I moved it to one side and placed it as low as it can go.� My camera grip rests on the strap to keep the weight of the camera better distributed.� �With the bag reconfigured I have almost an inch of extra space above the camera; this should be plenty of room for the strap once I put it on the camera.� (See attached Photos) So, in short...Adjust the Velcro at the bottom of the bag and it's a very nice compact case that will hold the camera with kit lens, spare batteries and spare SD cards!� �In fact, since I bought this camera for portability...the compact case is absolutely perfect for me! Get this kit if you're buying a G7!!!!� You get a 16GB SD card and a nice little case for the same money...and YES, the case is usable! My short time playing with the G7 has been very pleasing!� I purchased it as a backup to my G85, and it works really well in that role since the configuration of this camera is virtually the same as the G85.�� I'm extremely pleased with this purchase!

good support for my camera I have used it for about a week. we are very satisfied with this system. I have used it with a lumix G7 and it has worked very well.

This camera has worked amazingly well for me so far. The price tag is unbelievable for what you can get out of the G7, strongly recommend!

After quite a bit of research, I purchased this as a backup video camera for my son's recent trip to Uganda. He ended up using this as his main camera and is so thrilled with the results he achieved that he plans on selling his Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera so he can have two G7's for video use. Don't let the price fool you...this is a fantastic camera! It also takes great still photos! (This camera does both functions VERY well!) In fact, he had a rather inexpensive shotgun mic ($25 Generic) mounted to the hot shoe for his interview videos. The quality of the sound was fantastic. He had a separate audio recorder available...but didn't need it for the interview/documentary videography that he was capturing. I had previously researched getting a GX85 for myself, and after seeing his G7 for the same price or less...have decided that I'll probably get a G7 as my first MFT camera. Oh...He did make a 20 x 30 print from one of his stills....It looks great! I'm a hobbiest photography that currently uses Nikon gear...but when I get my first MFT travel camera I can promise you it'll be a Panasonic!
