I picked this up to use with my phone (Samsung Note 9 with an Otterbox case) and it just wedges in the Xuma spring loaded mount enough to hold the phone in place. I wanted something I could carry around in my back pocket when hiking and recording events (I was tired of makeshift tripod using trees, bushes, rocks, etc.). This tripod fit the bill for the intended purpose. That said, for kicks I tried mounting my Canon T1i /EOS 500D DSLR with a EF-S 18 - 200mm zoom lens and it would not hold its shape; acting more like play-doh. However, it did support the same camera with the 18 - 55mm kit lens on a flat surface. So, the tripod works as advertised and little beyond. 5 |

I used to have an OtterBox case with my old Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge and it was perfect, the same applies to my brand new case for Samsung Galaxy 9+...so close to perfection. 5 |
