If what prevents or bothers you using a tripod is it is too cumbersome to change heights or level the legs, this gem may change how you work. It is an excellent tripod for on location and studio. The absolute best thing about this tripod is how fast you can set it up and change heights. The lever system is wonderful. I can change from a sitting to a standing portrait as fast as the subject can change positions and be level with rock solid support. With a few seconds of tweaks, I can have it zeroed on the built in level. A few clients have even commented on how fast I could change it up. Also great on location because it is so easy to adjust each leg. I have shot on a rocky seawall easily because I could put the legs in a spot and level the tripod out in seconds. The geared column and extra extension in the feet (not levered) are bonuses to get a high perspective. In the studio, I mount this on bogen's rolling dolly and I have a pro-grade solution. It does have a wider spread than perhaps some other options so keep that in mind if working in a small studio. Cons, it is not light weight or super compact so treking it out into the middle of a field for a shoot can be a little taxing. Throw it over your shoulder and it's doable but this is not a light weight, flimsy or carbon fiber tripod. Likewise, no way you are taking this on a plane. Cheaper and easier to get a travel carbon fiber. Highly recommended. 5 |
