Gateway Computer Sata Drive

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it! 5 |

I am happy I purchased this SSD Drive. It replaces a 3TB Sata Drive. I use it for data storage in as much as I have thousands of photos on this drive. I have been pleased with the speed, read and write . Backup is much better compared to the SATA drive. The SATA drive could take almost 24 hrs for backup while the SSD drive may take 3-4 hrs. . I have not had over heating. I use a mid tower ATX case and the fans are enough to keep it cool. I am very satisfied. 5 |

this was installed on the family computer and while the previous drive was a typical "sata ssd" i never noticed how slow it was. after learning about different storage types, i now realize why nvme is so much faster. and it is noticeable! the load times for the initial startup is almost instant now. i don't even see the windows loading screen. pictures are clicked and opened almost immediately. i didn't know that a storage device could make such a difference, but my family has informed me that my pc is more than capable and switching to this drive was the breath of life it needed to be brought back into the 21st century. overall super happy with the drive. 5 |

There are three things you can do to your computer to speed it up. First, try to max out the memory (at least 16 megs). Second, get the fastest hard drive (not ssd*). Third, upgrade the CPU. I listed these in cost, and while its a toss up between memory and hard drive - try memory first. My original computer (an Intel I7 - 16 megs) came with a 1.5 TB hard drive. It was a SATA 1. It was getting long in the tooth, and was creating drive problems. I decided to clone it to a 2 TB SATA drive. The cloning problem choked on the bad sectors. After doing some research, I successfully cloned the drive. The clone drive was dragging. Spying a sale at B&H I purchase two of the 2TB SATA 3 drives and clone one of them. I then defragged the drive and tested the speed. It was reading and writing better than 5 times the speed of my old SATA 1 drive. No your probably thinking, what about those bad reviews, drive not working and failing. Well experience has told me, if it works - its great. Problem deal with it. I put the second SATA 3 to work as my back up drive. I created an image of the first drive and use it for the daily backups. And that image has been backed up to a system server. - I can sleep nights, can you? So, in conclusion - I would recommend this drive and make sure you have a copy of Seagates Disk Wizard (its free.) Back up your important data, etc. to two separate locations. 5 |

I needed to install a SATA drive in a desktop computer, but had not spare SATA power feeds, only molex. This did the job! 5 |

I added a second SATA hard drive to my computer. It did not come with cables. The computer power supply has a number of pigtails with the old white plastic connectors. This cable converts them to the connector used for power on the SATA drive. It works just fine. 5 |

Perfect for old computer or you don’t have to go out and buy a PATA drive. I had plenty of old laptop SATA drives laying around. Works perfectly. 5 |

I use the cable to connect the SSHD drive to my computer -- power and data. I hadn't connected any SATA drives before so I had to look at some websites in order to figure out how it should go. 5 |

Very happy with this purchase. The computer came equipped with a 500 GB SSD drive and no Wi-Fi. I added an Asus PCE-AX58BT Wi-Fi Adapter and a 6 TB WD Black 3.5 internal hard drive, both of which were relatively easy to install. I did have to purchase a SATA cable for the hard drive separately. I recommend at least an 18 SATA cable with right angle head on it. 5 |

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board. 5 |
