I just got it yesterday and it can make noise for the whole car. You can hear a little bit of it if you are outside the car door is closed which is honestly impressive to me. My friends have told me that there is more bass in this model of Extreme, if you haven't owned a midsize speaker I would definitely pick this one over the Extreme 3 and that's coming from someone who owned the 3.
