Gen 4 Night Vision Rifle Scope
anyonymous | 2024-04-18 06:28:52 |
This really is comparable to Gen 2 night vision. Once you get used to the controls and focusing the scope, it is quite easy to view things in the dark. I found the white and black color scheme to be the best when it comes to recognizing animals in the dark. Also, you don't have to worry about accidentally pointing the scope at a bright light and ruining the device like some regular night vision. Definitely a good deal if you need to see in low light conditions. One of my friends used it to look up at the sky and could see many more stars and satellites than were visible with the naked eye. You won't be disappointed with this scope. 5 |

Purchased this scope (Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 SFP) back in May to go on top of my 22-250 for a Prairie Dog trip in South Dakota. I haven't been disappointed yet. My group was shooting P-Dogs regularly at 500+ and even managed to get a few just short of 800 yards! I actually took a Swarovski Z6 2.5-15x56 off this rifle... and replaced it with this scope for the P-Dog trip! The magnification range of the PST was probably the biggest reason that I swapped the scopes out for the trip, as I really wanted to be able to zoom in on those longer shots, and P-Dogs are generally pretty easy to see. The scope performed flawlessly and has exceeded my expectations... which are pretty high. Truth be told, the PST is still sitting on that rifle... and the aforementioned scope has been resting in the safe ever since... That should say something about the performance and quality of this scope!!! I've used and am very familiar with the Gen 1 PST line, and these Gen 2s are an obvious upgrade. I really like the Illumination knob being relocated to the Side Focus knob as it keeps the scope looking much more sleek and less "busy". The Turrets on the Gen 2s are much better as well, larger diameter and shorter, which allows you to see more of the marks on the turrets and they are easier to see. Scope still feels very rugged and durable across the board. The glass was also upgraded slightly, which is nice as well, and its extremely good glass for its price point. Not sure if they changed the coatings, or started with a new chunk of glass, but there seems to be a difference over the Gen1s. All in all, if you're reading this, you're thinking about buying one... stop reading and buy it. I can't imagine how anyone would be disappointed in the scope itself or by the Vortex Customer Service. Shoot straight, and thanks again Vortex... awesome product here! 5 |

Just received scope and have not mounted on rifle but the vision is super in the early morning dawn - like the flip open covers and sun shield that are included with scope. Will be using on Elk hunt later on after plenty of sight in practice for ranging. 5 |

I have had this scope for a little over two months now, and I am truly impressed. The scope is mounted on a Rem 700 in .30-06. Between my son and I we have already put 3 to 4 boxes through the rifle after mounting the scope, ranging from 150 grain to 180 grain, recoil has not affected my zero and eye relief has not been a problem. We were quickly ringing steel at 300 yards with no problem. What has really impressed me is the image quality at night. We set up with green lights intermediately placed 25 yards out to 175 yards, and are able to see out to nearly 200 yards on a pitch black night. The rifle has fallen three to four feet at least twice and has held zero without a problem. I am already looking for my next Vortex scope purchase. 5 |

I got this free with the purchase of a travel scope. It is very useful for viewing at night when you want to make adjustments to the scope and not mess up your night vision. A red light is a must for visual asronomy at a dark sky sight. Highly recommended 5 |

This red light flashlight is bright and ideal for setting up your scope at night without destroying your night vision! 5 |

I have been using night vision devices for many years now so I decided to upgrade to a thermal device. Well I finally saved up and purchased the ATN ThOR 640 4x-40x and it has changed the way we hunt predators. The reliability and features on this scope are amazing from taking pictures and videos to the smart range finder, and being able to store different setups in the scope allowing it to be moved to different rifles. The best part of this scope is not on the scope itself, but with customer service. You have a customer for life. 5 |

The VCOG 1-8 is the best close quarters to mid range scope that I have ever used. It also works well with both night vision PVS22 and and PVS-14. I wish I had this scope for my deployments in Afghanistan as it is very fast for up close work and easily gets you out to 600 yards 5 |
