The Mix-Pre-6 - I don't need to say much about this legendary recorder. After years of owning numerous Zoom and Tascam recorders and mixers and being perfectly happy with all of them, I decided to invest in a Sound Devices recorder. I have not been disappointed with the recorder yet, it lives up to it's reputation. The device's one major flaw is how it handles power. There is no elegant solution to powering this device. Don't believe any users out there who state they absolutely love how their power setup works, they are compromising one way or another. The 8-battery sled is probably your best option, but it is very overpriced, it's materials and construction are poor and that solution doesn't offer the run life of other options. Using any of the NP battery sled solutions makes the device unwieldy and harder to fit in some audio bags. Using a Hirose sled or powering off of a USB power bank means you are tethered to something else. There is no power option that doesn't involve some sort of compromise. This is a fantastic recorder/mixer, just think about your power options before committing to one. K-Tek Stingray MixPro Audio Bag - B&H offers the MixPre-6 in a few audio bag bundles. Since most people can't hold and evaluate these bags before buying, one has to rely on B&H reviews and YouTube videos to make an informed buying decision. After doing some research I opted for the K-Tek bundle and I'm glad I did. The bag isn't as ultra-compact as some others, but seems more compact than, say, the Orca (based on reviews and stated dimensions). All of the zippers are quiet, it offers a few interesting configuration options, and provides all of the access points that I want, in the way I wanted them. There is no perfect bag, only the perfect bag for you and your needs. The K-Tek bag checked all the boxes I needed.

K-Tek products do what they say and have a different look than the competitors!

I believe this is my 6th set of wireless lav mics, including the original Rode Wireless GO set and this is hands down the best value and the smartest set. I loved my original set and was using it contentedly but as soon as they announced that I could have two transmitters and that everything would record IN THE MIC, I was sold. I'm a full time YouTuber and, having lost recordings due to static, interference and more, I knew that the onboard recording feature alone was enough to save me hours of potential frustration and was a game changer. I have been using these for a couple of months now (since they came out) and would highly recommend them to anyone. The sound quality is excellent and the software is simple and easy to use - though you likely will rarely need it. I use a separate lapel mic with the transmitter because I don't want the whole transmitter showing in the video. I also use a 3D Printed T-Shirt mic holder. I have yet to lose a single bit of audio from either my first gen or second gen Wireless GOs, which is impressive. Don't hesitate - buy these!
